Tom finally ported the famous AmigaAMP to OS4-PowePC !

There is also a first beta to try:

AmigaAMP 2.25 (OS4 NATIVE) Public Beta Build 40

THIS IS A PUBLIC BETA VERSION
Do not upload to Aminet!
Do not upload to OS4Depot!
Do not upload anywhere else!
Use at your own risk!

Usage: Just run it on its own or copy it into your existing
AmigaAMP directory and run it from there.

Most of the v2.24 deficiencies remain and will be fixed in future releases.

Most important changes from 2.24:

- Prelude-, MHI- and mpega.library-support dropped.
- No "Engine" selection any more. Amp decoder built in.
- LibSndfile support built in (AIFF, WAV, etc.)
- LibFlac support built in (FLAC)
- Equalizer working for AIFF, WAV, FLAC, etc. as well

Technical info:

This has been ported to and recompiled for AmigaOS4. Most of the deprecated
code has either been removed or rewritten to match OS4 style library calls.

Its still using "amp" as MP2/MP3 decoder with my own proprietary Equalizer-
and Analyzer code which does not eat extra CPU cycles because it is part of
the decoding process anyway.

During AIFF, WAV and FLAC playback it is using a separate FFT routine for the
Analyzer and an IIR multi bandpass filter for the Equalizer. Both need extra
CPU time when switched on but not much compared to what a SAM440 board
or similar can handle.

Have fun!

@samo79

Wow, that's good news! This program gets used here every day - nice to see it native! Thanks, Thomas!

Good to see that its native, that everything now inbuild, and that more and more old-good programms going to be aos4 native.

@Thomas

Cool!!! I didn't think you would do it.

Thanks a lot. I'll try that on my SamFlex.

Thanks Thomas. :-)

I use it full morning today and only 1 skippable DSI crash happened, in short: it's rock stable for a beta :-)

Nice to see, but it doesn't work here. The equalizer is the only window I can click on, on the other two only the close gadget works. I can try playing something by dragging it in, it says it is playing but nothing happens.

Works fine for me. I just download, unpack to ram, run, open list of mp3s and press play.

But notice some little problem: when you do iconify, and then iconify back to full-mode, then music stops of millisecond.

Also in hope that everything now inside the one binary, just choice project/config (in hope that maybe need add size of buffers for plaing, to avoid that stops when un-iconify), and it say something about "you not have amp-prefs, be sure that you have it blablab", and then hardcore lockup. Will be cool if all the code about preferences will be included to the binary itself (just to not give for users any boring problems).

Also when i type this message, and press "Submit" in reaction-owb , then music stops, and everything lockups (but message looks like was posted by luck).

So it works, but a bit buggy.

Yep i notice this too.

Preferences still external, eventually we can ask Denill for this (prefs was written by him)
