Great men.. this means that we can try to understand in which way we must draw the amiga-like gadgets.. :)

I must admit that I'm deeply impressed! Awesome progress...

i 've had a look at it and it looks very complex.
lets see what i can do... ;)

oh maaan i can't wait for this! there's so many cool apps that i want to port!

Well done!

Just to be sure, is it native? (not under Amicygnix)

Thanks.
kas1eRe: Qt Native News20101229 12:21  #562
@elwood

Of course its native. The whole topic about it , and even name of topic "Qt Native News" :)

@kas1e

Damn. I'm too tired these days.

Spasiba ;-)

@alfkil

A question from someone outside the community:
"what's the rendering engine used, the raster one or a completely custom one?"

What can I answer to him?

Thanks
alfkilRe: Qt Native News20101229 22:55  #575
@elwood

The rendering engine is opengl. I've done a little work on a custom graphics.library engine, but it turned out to be much easier to just invoke the opengl engine for everything drawn on screen. Faster too ;-).
kas1eRe: Qt Native News20101229 23:12  #576
@alfkil

So all the app which will have GUI, will by default opengl for us ? (cool !)

Btw, i notice on screenshots lately, that font a bit "dirty". I.e. letters and number looks not smooth/crisp as our system fonts. That strange as well, because its truetype as well?
spotUPRe: Qt Native News20101230 04:33  #577
@kas1e

it looks like it lacks colours. as it looks now just the black color is drawn on screen, all other colors ie the antialising is missing.
elwoodRe: Qt Native News20101230 09:20  #581
@alfkil

Thanks for your information.

As you can see here the Amiga name keep people interested. The (old) thread that mentions "Amiga" got more "reads" than any other ;-)

When you'll release your first version of the package, we'll create some more interests in the computing world. Nice! :-)

Another question Alfkil :-) Is your port based on Lighthouse?

Have you seen the latest screenshots? When I moved everything to opengl, colors were introduced.

No.

We mean that for example on that qtwood screenshot, fonts are dirty , like wihtout antialiasing or kind. Its because you just turn something off for now, or need to port some more functions of font stuff ?

ps. btw, count me in betatest if you need it
spotUPRe: Qt Native News20101230 14:33  #591
@kas1e

count me in as a betatester as well! pretty please!!
or alpha.. or pre-alpha tester or whatever, just let me in, ok!? :D
spotUPRe: Qt Native News20101230 14:34  #592
@kas1e

to me it looks like the font is destroyed by what should have been antialias, but the actual antialias is missing as if it was drawn in a transparent colour.

Can't wait until this is available for usage...

:-D

Freetype/fontconfig stuff is not complete yet. The rendering mechanism is hardcoded to large polygon rendering, which looks corky when used with small types.
