Epistula v52.12

Latest public version of Epistula has now been released for you try. As usual , you can find it in the usual place; Epistula Website.

As a good will gesture, I've provided a public keyfile for download so everyone can now use Epistula without the 10 minute timeout. If you haven't already, please consider donating though, it makes me feel better

Important Note: You will need the latest version of OS4 installed, i.e. the one Hyperion released this week.

Please before sending me emails, I know the following don't work (yet):
- File Transfers
- Plugin Avatar Support
- Auto Away

I'd like to point out that they are supported in Epistula, however I haven't written the plugin to support these features yet.

Bug reports, crashes, crash logs all welcome but please, no bitching about missing features.

I downloaded it and tried to connect to AIM (using a config I had briefly working before) and, unfortunately, it gave me this error message: "Unable to connect to the service on the address and port provided. Please check the server credentials in the plugin settings" I checked the plugin config and the server address is set as: aimexpress.oscar.aol.com 5190 I think this is/was the default server config for AIM? And so I'm wondering, is this a problem with the server or something else on my end - the rest of the congif or something else in Epistula? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, PJS

Normally I wouldn't care about such comments, but I thought such a comment in the news item for Epistula was a bit harsh, hence my reply. To answer your question correctly, I have no plans to create a Jabber plugin just yet, I need to get Epistula as stable as possible and I need to get the file transfer working in MSN. Then I can have a look at a jabber plugin. Or you could give it a go yourself? I'd provide a skeleton plugin for you to compile for use with Epistula in that case. You'd just have to fill in the Jabber functionality first.
