![]() Errm, lots actually..
Picasso96 renders my machine totally useless.. I tried OS4 on my A4000 classic Quad monitor system, totally unusable, Picasso is SLOW on 1 cfx card and completly useless with 2 or 3. When using OS3.9 and CGX4.2 the system really flies, menu's, scrolling, screen switching are instant, with Picasso it's so slow it's laughable. Anyway there in another thread posted by me about this problem, I think it was called ( Picasso96 bug ? ) or something... Enjoy. Wol. |

Does this mean there is an openfirmware loader for OS4/Pegasos ? Or the firmware must be flashed with UBoot ? |

![]() No, the trick to switch to other resolution or depth doesn't work always and if it works it works partially... Like quake II try it and you' ll see with your eyes.. there are a lot of problems with the sam and amiga os 4.1.. so i seriously hope that the work for the sam version will not be stopped now that there is also the peg version..

Yes, that decription is unusual, but acording to screenshot (top left) on liliputing.com it is a MPC5121e. They currently seem to use a operating system called LimeOS (Linux), but i looks rather limited... Link to artice on liliputing.com with video. ![]() |

Thanks for the link. So it's an MPC5121e, which includes (amongst other things) an e300 PowerPC core and a PowerVR MBX graphics engine (OpenGL ES 1.1 compatible). That graphics engine is the same one that is used in some cell phones. Hans |

Whilst it is completely pointless, dreaming a little is fun. I realize that it might come across as the Peg-II port not being good enough, but I think that it's more a case of the Peg-II port making people more enthusiastic about what's coming next. Just ignore it all and continue with the big plan. Hans |

Yes, I'm more of the other mind of things, I don't want to see too many other ports especially if it means we didn't need to by new SAMs. I'm not sure if new machines are tied into AOS4 survival but it would be a little annoying to have brought perhaps another SAM variant within a year and then all of a sudden BANG AOS4.x will suddenly run on faster exisiting PPC hardware. ![]() |

I second that. Even without having a SAM so far, I think it would really piss of the most of the SAM buyers. And nothing good would come out of that. @ Rogue stick to the plan, it seems to run very good. @ all enjoy the times. Within the last 3 years, I have an eye on the Amiga again, and there has never been so much going on. Amiga OS 4 supports 4 different kind of systems. Now many, many developers are able to write and port Software for this OS. Even it will be hard to convince some of the Morphos people ![]() Let's hope that now is the time the Amiga rises again, and will destroy the forces of evil. ![]() |
