History:
3.9 (29.3.2009)
- Updated StringView, should work when using OWB on an own screen now.
- Added an error requester to StringView if expat.library can't be
opened.
- Reverted the 3.7 cookie changes as they broke more than they fixed,
it's tooltype COOKIES and a plain text file instead of the database
again.
- Fixed iconify bugs when using tabs.

Good to see such a quick bug fix release.

With a bit of luck this release will restore the high level of stability found in previous releases with the added bounce of having working download support.

This is a bit confusing, the version on OS4depot.net is 3.8, yet it has 3.9 changes in the readme?

Joerg is pretty good with updates, but 3.9 has hit the AmiUpdate database yet either.

I think someone forgot to change the version of the main archive; if you download it, you will notice it has a different length from what the previous 3.8 had. I bet there's a 3.9 inside -- will unpack it in a moment ...

Best regards,

Niels

OWB 3.9 working ok here so far. I was getting random crashes and system freezes with OWB 3.8.

Even this 3.9 version is eating up memory and CPU time.

Are you sure ? the memory here on the sam is the same as in the 3.8 and the cpu is lower for me than the 3.8.. i have noticed it since the splash image, the mouse movements are now smooth and not as before.. for me better

I have just tried out the download function, and it works great, but what about a progress bar? How do I know when the download is complete?

I like the back/forward/reload in the string gadget.

I think that Fb sends a sound that tells you of the message (like msn) and owb, wich can't play the sound, tries to download it...

Please try this :

open a link in a new tab, then close the tab before the page is completely loaded. It gives here an immediate GR and clicking on "ignore" freezes OWB

Check this thread in AmigaWorld. It looks like that memory leak problem is related to certain gif picture. I got actually all memory back after quitting OWB 3.9.

Works alot of better then 3.8. No crashes so far on facebook. I also got the mp3 popup on facebook under chat when receiving chatmessage. I also tested to run owb on that gifanim mentationed on amigaworld.net and the avaible memory was decreasing.

I had a crash while quitting a tab. Other then that its better then 3.8.
