| To gain some more attention and hopefully some more people to test the device *and* report their findings, i decided to make a news item this time:
I've uploaded the new version 0.28 of my rtl81x9.device to os4depot. It's a SANA-II ethernet device for AmigaOS4 and any network card based on 8139(A/B/C/D) or 8169 chips.
Everyone out there with a Realtek 8139 (100Mbit) or 8169 (1000Mbit) card spare please give it a spin. There are some problems left, which I can't track down on my own but simply need input of more people than myself.
FYI here some speed figures between my A1 and my Linux-Box.
100Mbit Full-Duplex RTL8139D: Quote:7.Progs:Tools/TcpSpeed> TcpSpeed.cyb c 192.168.0.1 20971520 bytes read, 10951 kB/s 7.Progs:Tools/TcpSpeed> TcpSpeed.cyb s 20 20971520 bytes written, 9130 kB/s
1000Mbit Full-Duplex RTL8169: Quote:7.Progs:Tools/TcpSpeed> TcpSpeed.cyb c 192.168.0.1 20971520 bytes read, 13482 kB/s 7.Progs:Tools/TcpSpeed> TcpSpeed.cyb s 20 20971520 bytes written, 7537 kB/s
You may notice the bad speeds for the 8169. Well, thats exactly one of the problems I can't track down only with my own card and A1 as test case.
Have fun!
