@George
Can check tomorrow, but did you compare 2.8 build from this thread with os4depot one ? Is it same fast and problems start with your 2.9 build ? Or 2.8 one also slow ?

Ps. How you meassure speed in graphx ?

Re: How to reboot ?

@joerg @Hypex & everybody in this thread.

Thanks for the additional reboot info.

It is very much appreciated.

Trying various key combos myself.

I think this is the hard reboot option.

It seem to respond to the key prompts better than the soft reboot option.

It is a WIFI usb receiver Logitec Waves Windows/MAC ergonomics keyboard.

I tried holding the keys in sequence below.

1. Left CTRL
2. Left ALT
3. Right CTRL.
Then
4. Right ALT.

The A1222+ reboots with an A-EON splash screen soon after and it then boots into Amiga OS 4.1 fine.

The soft reboot:

1. Left CTRL.
2. Left ALT.
3. Right ALT.

The monitor goes black, it remains black, I can see the monitor is refreshed but it not capturing the video signal from the GPU, it just remains black and I have to power off and on the A1222+ to get a display again.

For now I will stick to the hard reboot option and hopefully saves eveyone's new A1222+ front chassis power button from repeated use.

Ok, that will have been the problem. If you continue to have various crashes, please try using only the front USB ports.

I also had problems with the right rear USB port that the TCP/IP stack/etnernet driver and other things crashed often.

I have never seen anything like this with my system. I wonder if there's an actual issue introduced with the production board. Has anyone with the original Tabor beta boards experienced this?

Believe me, the error is there and I have already reported it or someone has done it for me. You can read all about it here.

https://www.amigans.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=9592

Most bugs will only show up when people use this hardware with different configurations. It's the same with software bugs. I'm also not sure how many beta tests there were for the A1222, but I don't think there were many.

That's pretty cool and I'm going to try it out. It's a bit off topic but which GamePad should you use on AmigaOs4.1 ?

I'm currently using a PlayStation 3 controller wirelessly with the help of Magic SN 2. The gamepad controller does not work with all games that offer gamepad or joystick support.

@kas1e
If this is simple enough, can you check to compile grafx2 2.9, which is the latest version?

I did it on my own, but I lack the fixes you already have in place, and compared to the 2.5wip version on OS4Depot, this was slower. I wonder if your compilation will be better, or they changed something that makes it slow on our systems.

Also, my compilation crashes when I use compositing in SDL, but it works with software, and the ogles modes.

Crtl-Amiga-Amiga is still there in the form of Ctrl-Windows-Windows. Or Ctrl-Logo-Logo as I call it.
Only if you don't use a Radeon HD or RX gfx card with current drivers.
With the old Radeon HD v3 drivers soft reboot still worked, but not with the v5 drivers any more.

There's some alternate forms if right Windows is missing, usually selectable in some input prefs, if it's not removed.
On for AmigaOS unusable keyboards the Windows MENU key, usually between Alt Gr. (right ALT on AmigaOS) and the right CTRL key (same as left CTRL on AmigaOS since the original Amiga keyboards only had a single CTRL key), can be used as replacement for the missing right logo/AMIGA key.

Unlike the old PS/2 keyboards USB ones can't be used for rebooting if there is a serious crash, but what still works, or at least should, is the case power button:
Short press = soft/fast reboot (AmigaOS restart only)
Long press = hard reboot (complete reboot executing the firmware and reloading AmigaOS)
Very long press = power off

Hmm...I'm confused by this? The rear USB ports on the A1222+ are not side by side, they are stacked one on top of the other. I have my wireless keybaord plugged into the bottom rear USB port and have had no issues. I've also used the top rear USB port without issues. Are you refering to the LAN ports?

I suspect there is confusion because they use a different tower. And not the most complete one as provided by A-EON

@Boabster

Really we need a more resilient system. The problem is the USB stack is task based so any system freeze will lock up input as if multitasking is disabled the stack is dead. This wasn't so bad on PS/2 (A1/XE) as it could read the ports in an interrupt and still detect it.

Anyway for reboot Ctrl-Alt-Alt is for hard reboot and will fully reboot machine. Crtl-Amiga-Amiga is still there in the form of Ctrl-Windows-Windows. Or Ctrl-Logo-Logo as I call it. There's some alternate forms if right Windows is missing, usually selectable in some input prefs, if it's not removed.

Hi @elfpipe

Can you tell us more about your AHi-settings maybe?

For a well working system it's important to set a good mode for Unit 0 and for the music unit to set it to unit 0.

I'm currently using the emu10x driver happily but i also tested some other cards in my X5000.
Sadly i did not test the hdaudio-driver before it was removed from os4depot but afaik i'm happy with my soundblaster live or whatever it's called that i'm using.

Here's screenshots from my settings.

I'm not using the enhancer sound preference program as it did not work when i tested it for the first time a few years ago and it might still suck so avoid it.

Is there a newer version? Would love to play keyboard only game susing either my USB gamepad or my old school jpytsick via my Catweasel Mk4+ if possible

update:
some success...by keeping AmigaInput open on workbench somehow I got the gamepad directions to work but no luck with any buttons..well when playing the game as some buttons only work on game screen??

Here's the info you need to make sense of AmigaInoutAnyware aka watch walkero's Twitch video on July16-24
