@Chris

Thanks mate. I might need a few more pointers.

Because, how would I go around doing that? Just a plain E-UAE start? I would like to run a hd installed version of the game...

@Skov

Try it without WHDLoad - you shouldn't need that, it's a fairly system friendly game. I never had any problems with it without WHDLoad, in fact I'm reasonably sure I've played it under OS4 E-UAE and it has worked.

@Skov

At the UBoot prefs press Esc and select "enter UBoot shell". At the shell prompt enter printenv. Press cursor-down quickly to stop the scrolling list. Check if there is a variable called menuboot_delay and if it is set to 0.

If it is 0, enter setenv menuboot_delay 3 or any other number of seconds. Then enter saveenv and reset.

Now you should see a progress bar which allows you to enter the UBoot prefs by a key press. When the delay is over, it should boot without entering the menu.

Bye,
Thomas

Wow, that's fast!
After installing all the fonts here, (cyberbit an corefonts) the whole text is displayed. However, here on amigans I can't click the threads links (on the main page for example).

gone to define default other than Bitstream Cyberbit font, maybe some "Sans" one.

Great job!

@MamePPCA1

From the doc which you should have got with your A1.
This is for the XE

Quote:

J9A1 (10-pin header near the lower rear corner of the board when mounted in a tower case) is for connecting the second USB connector (USB3 & USB4). Pin 1 is marked with a white square. Pins 9 & 10 are labelled on the board (pin 10 is missing as a polarising pin). Pins 1 (+5v), 3 (-D), 5 (+D), 7 (gnd) form USB3; pins 2 (+5v), 4 (-D), 6 (+D), 8 (gnd) form USB4; pin 9 is shield ground. Standard PC-type dual USB headers/sockets (available from most AmigaOne dealers) are suitable.

For the Micro A1

-Edit-

Most modern tower cases if they have front usb ports should have the cables already.

If not this sort of thing is what your after.

Playing Colonization WHDload using E-UAE and I've got it running very nicely.

One problem, though! I can't save!

Try to make a savefile and it gives this error:

Dos-Error #103
(not enough memory available)
on writing file "exe/colony00.sav"

Is there anyway around this problem on OS4?

@LiveForIt

What's your program name to run WHDLoad on AOS4?

Maybe I have it but don't know how to configure it yet.

Two days ago I installed AmigaInput on my July update system.

Can anyone be so kind to explain me the steps of configuring a CD32 pad or USB pad with AmigaInput?

Thanks!

This is really amazing. When I got all the fonts working probably this update impressed me alot! It looks better and it feels faster.

Joerg, I can't salute enough. I can make a donation, however, and I'll do this tomorrow!

@Paul

Well often when electricity stops during winter, it because ice has formed on the electric cables, the cables becomes so heavy they fall off, lucky her in Norway its almost as warm as the Norwegian summer thanks to climate change, we don?t experience snow that often anymore.

@MamePPCA1

Well it depends on the game, avoid display scaling and most games should run fin.
Stay away from AGA games, and 3D games, they are often too slow.
(And yes CPU speed counts, but I have played many games on 800mhz whit out any problem)

@poweramiga

Too bad I"m at work now. But all my problems with 1.10 went away once I rebuilt my font directory with typemanager, anyway.

I'll have to try 1.12 tonight if our electricity at home comes back on. (Stupid winter ice storms. . . . )

@Mufasa

Yeah UAE is too slow on my A1 and so unstable too,it shows the guru meditation message so I have to reboot more than I like.

I like to say that I am WHDLoad registered user since year 2000 and would like to see this executable on AOS4.

It's not required any more, I found the bug and fixed it in version 1.12.

@spotUP

That's the decoder only (libfaad). The encoder is called libfaac and is not ported to AmigaOS. I agree that the names are such that they are too easy to confuse though.

@Jurassicc

How is the way to attach the cables?

Is there a guide or something similar?

What type of cables do I need and where to get it?

Thanks.

@MamePPCA1

Through uboot

press ESC to abort the boot sequence.

at the uboot prompt type menu

enable the ports in the menu, save and quit.

You might be able to do it via uboot prefs in sys:prefs/

-Edit-

Refer back to your Eyetech XE Quickstart guide before attaching the cables to the headers. The pins are reversed IIRC on one set of the headers.
