I didn't know that. Freedb is only available under 4.0 (I think) so this would only work that.
I recently acquired AOS4.0 so it's not a problem.
Cheers again.
@ Jack
Yes that's the one. Setting up was the problem, looked a bit messy.
Although admittedly, it was late at night when I was looking into using it.

@TiredOfLife Quote: Have used the MpegEncGui for years under 3.9. Has been very handy. Just seemed a bit much having to rip the cd using Make Cd encoding and editing the tag using MpegEncGUI. I know there is software that recognises tracks on music cd's under OS4 (Freedb) so was looking for something that would tie all three together.
Will give the first link a try.
Cheers MPegEncGUI will rip and tag the cd tracks for you, as long as you have freedb installed. 1. Select the CD source. 2. Select use list (tick the box) 3. Add tracks to list (Highlight all) 4. Go to menu & select get freedb for this cd. 5. Select a destination directory, create one if necessary. 6. Select Encode. I use this on an Amigaone using OS4, but I don't think it is any different under OS3.9

SDL-1.2.11-20080121 flaw
|
|
Hi devs (and those who want to be), the new version of Evilrich's SDL port works fine so far (i just build a project with it), but it has two minor flaws which need to be addressed. sdl-config has a wrong prefix set (both in clib2 and newlib), in the downloadable archives it's set in local/newlib/bin/sdl-config to prefix=/usr/local/amiga/ppc-amigaos/SDK/local/newlib/respectively in local/clib2/bin/sdl-config to prefix=/usr/local/amiga/ppc-amigaos/SDK/local/clib2Both of these won't work and will throw errors on not finding SDL.h. they need to be fixed to point to the right drawer, for newlib it has to be prefix=/SDK/local/newliband for clib2 prefix=/SDK/local/clib2Of course you dev and porting gods do know about it already and know how to fix it, but me (and probably lots of other poor sods who pretend to develope/port for our beloved system ) didn't know and might find this information useful. /me signing off now get to work and port beautiful stuff with enhanced SDL @spotty Wouldn't this make an addition to your pfd?

I'm with you there ! my A1 is my main computer, and the only way for me to run OS4, so if it died, I'd be forced to consider some less palatable alternatives. anyone in the UK do A1 board repairs/reworks ? I think I'd prefer to courier it myself, and watch the work !

TheMPEGEncGUI is a great utility for full control over MP3 creation, but I agree that there should be an easier tool available i.e. insert CD, click encode, new drawer with tagged files created.

I suspect a sound driver for USB would require isochronous transfers, which I believe no Amiga USB stack supports yet. Hence why there are no USB sound drivers.
I could be wrong though!

@TSK Quote: Last time I tested any of those X11 programs didn't work. I don't remember is it because OS4 July update or why. They are trying to access forever something in ENVARC: which doesn't exist. Can you specify, for what the programs are searching for? You can use "Snoopy" for this. Should not be a serious problem. I think there is something wrong in your Cygnix startup.
