@nubechecorre
I had similar problems myself. The youtube_play script I was never able to get to work at all but that might be a firewall/routing problem given that I have an odd Internet setup at the moment.
However, the youtube_save&play script I got to work, but only after I had raised the stack to stop MPlayer from crashing. On the second line of the AREXX script, under the "/* youtube downloader */ comment, add the line:
PRAGMA('STACK',1000000)
I don't think it's enough to add it in the script file that launches MPlayer - it has to be done in the AREXX script itself. Once I did this it worked fine.

The laptop would look kinda funny I think! SAM is small, but it's not really the right form-factor for a laptop. But you can always try to make a wooden box around it with a small integrated keyboard and display. However, I am not too sure if you can impress business-men with it!
Let's not build castles in the sky and just hope that OS4 has a future on SAM440.
I'd suggest using aluminium, or some other material, so that it's thinner. With the right tools, an ok Sam440ep laptop could be made. It's small enough and thin enough. And it can have a mini-PCI slot fow a wireless card. One trick that laptop manufacturers use to make the laptop look thinner than it really is, is to put it on tallish rubber feet (say 5-7 mm) and then have a lowered section on the underside of the laptop that's lower than the rest. That way it looks really thin on the sides, but they still have enough room to cram everything in. As a side-note, one of the court documents has a transcript in which Bill McEwan talks about cooperating with UDTech (I think it's UDTech) to create a cheap mini-laptop. Hans

@Raziel Quote: Either you fix the sax for your installation yourself or you may be stuck with the squeeky sound...sorry :-/
I think you miss understand me, if you are hearing a sax sound then it is not playing correctly as it should be squeaky. The sound that should be playing is set by CTRL 0 bank select MSB set to 64 and CTRL 32 LSB set to 0 which will select the first SFX voice in XG mode which is a cutting noise. The squeaking is done by changing the sounds brightness. I think you need to hear it on a Yamaha XG sound card/module to know what it realy should sound like. I discovered today that loading the AnotherXG sound font into Windows almost gets it right by using the correct sounds but the brightness effects seem to be reversed. The stand alone TiMidity player does support sf2 files but not the TuneNet plugin version, something that Curty has just said he is working on. @Curty That's great news, what are the chances of a Camd support option in the future? I wish I could code myself but don't know if I will ever grasp it.

@Arnie It doesn't seem the Amiga version of TiMidity can handle .sf2 files, yet? Anyway, you can find a set of free patches here (freepats), but be warned, they sound exactly (sax) like the one you have already installed (GUS?) and worse for some other instruments. Just my humble opinion, but i compared some freely available patch sets the other day and the GUS set still sounded best. Either you fix the sax for your installation yourself or you may be stuck with the squeeky sound...sorry :-/

Im currently looking into the Midi plugin that I wrote for TuneNet as it uses the Timidity lib which should allow the use of other soundfonts.

If the reasons for the delay are only that it is not yet finished, then GREAT! Even if that might sound strange after 6 years of waiting. I was afraid that it is not released because of the legal stuffs. That would be sad because the bl**dy lawsuit might still take some time and I can't wait anymore! Excuse my ignorance but I thought that it was nearly finished because there were already talks about the packaging and other things in some interview. Do you already have an ETA for the CD-pressing of the CyberstormPPC versions? Keep up the good works!

Yes, but it doesn't look as if the lawsuit will be finished in this year. Without a court decision, Hyperion and ACube will not be able to do anything. And even if the court decides, it is not clear if it decides in favour of Hyperion. To be honest, the chance that we will see OS4 on SAM this year is very small. Do you know when SAM will be available for normal consumers? I am not sure if they have already sold some boards to any peoples!?

It means absolutely nothing to the average Amigan unless SAM runs OS4. At the moment it doesn't look it for 2007 and ACube isn't even capable to release OS4 for the CyberstormPPC althought they already made some advertising for it. Delivering the promises? We'll see...
