im more hopeful about ANY new generation amiga hardware, hopeful it materialises, hopeful it becomes available in quantities that mean we dont wait 2 months for it.most of all i hope OS4 becomes available before we lose more of the computer hobbiest market

YES! The SAM440-Amiga is looking awesome from what I have seen in the news items on this website.
I will definately be the first in the queue to buy this hardware. A next generation Amiga is all that I currently dream of.
I applaud all efforts aimed at bringing a new next generation Amiga computer to the market and into the hands of the customers.

Do it the Amiga-way...

1. Get PicShow and SGrab from Aminet
2. Load your to-be-avatar pic in PicShow, go to the "Action" menu
Go to "Change Size", change the BIGGER size of the pic to 120pixels
and press return, now the smaller size (vertical or horizontal -
whatever it will be) is changed accordingly to fit it) and press "OK"

Now there should be your avatar in the right size on the middle of your screen

3. Start SGrab and change the filetype option (on the bottom) to JPEG
(leave all the options as they are), now look beneath the window (where the
open screens and windows are listed) and tick "Windows" and "Only contents"

Remember the max size (horizontal or vertical must not be bigger than 120)

Choose PicShow's window (which now holds your avatar pic in the right size
and press SAVE, after that do a VIEW to be sure you grabbed the right window

4. Go to your account and upload the avatar...

I had a simular problem not long ago with both an mp3 player and external hd
worked perfectly until i used them in friends pc both then wouldn't work on either my mac or A1
had to format it in A1 then worked again in mac and A1 :)
so use OS4 to format it :)

I believe that it is mostly C though there might be some asm but since e-UAE compiles on linux x86, linux PPC, OS4 PPC, (MorphOS and MacOS I think) it is probably recompilable on most architectures.

I watched Jaws recently, for the first time, and it scared the hell out of me.

I mostly compile OS4 only and sometimes, when it makes sence and it's not too much extra work, I also compile for m68k. More often than not I test the m68k compiles under OS4's JIT emulation since I'm too lazy to start up UAE just for this.

I don't compile for other platforms since they are not available to me so I have no way of testing if it works. At least someone would have to request a port and volunteer to do any necessary testing first before I will bother.

Anyway, I include source codes with most of my stuff, and it's OK by me if anyone wants to port any of the programs to some other OS just as long as they give proper credit and do not try to claim the whole work as their "own".

my impression is that when i do the latter that the first one should not display anything... but it does.
means: i cannot mark everything read

IMHO a better buy would be a A4000 or A3000 - especially if this is a longer term purchase.
