As you could see in the CVS, I am in the progress of merging GLIB_oli
and MAIN. Most files are done already and most test cases work
(again). But still not all required files are commited.. and a lot of
files need to be removed, as they are now in the real glib directory.

gtk-mui/glib news

16.11.06
Just noticed, I did no updates for quite a while, sorry, as always ;).
My Servers are up again (the cheap box died one week, after I got my
new servers.. Harddisks are not really reliable these days.. I now
have two servers with RAID controllers each, maybe I should place one
in a different location..).

iconv.library

Up to now, gtk-mui, iconv and glib were static link libraries, which
leads to quite big executables, even for small programs. So I try to
understand, how AROS libraries work (or better, how to convert a unix
link library to an amiga library). I managed to get an iconv.library,
but the only thing it does, is to write core dumps.

gtk-mui

Long time ago, I created a branch in the CVS, so that I could test the
glib integration. In the main trunk, itix made some MorphOS and other
changes. For quite some time, I was not really motivated, to do the
boring, but the necessary merge . I started merging yesterday and it
seems, it's not too difficult. Most tests work with the new merged
version, but there are still some problems remaining.

Been thinking the last two years that a site like this would be great, but lack of time-and-whatnot has keept me back. Now it's done and I like it!

I'll second the classifieds section, that would be quite handy. As it is, though, I don't see much need for tons of extra "features" as the forums and news will most likely be the biggest draws to the site.

I might be in the market for a larger HD as well, provided it's larger than 80MB. :)

@GrumpyOldMan

That sounds like the IBrowseNetwork bug where IB doesn't quit all of its tasks when exiting. You can check this with Scout by checking the "tasks" that are running. There should be no IB tasks running.

I can see that you are very wise.

This site is for U.

(It's getting crowded quite fast. You relaize it's not open till Friday the 1st of December? Even I shouldn't be in here. (Imagine being locked in a Toy'R'Us! ) I snuck in using arcane magic. Hehehe. Don't tell no one.)

You know, it'll get me in trouble, but I'm beginning to think that morphing should be banned....

Oh, what was that line that Q gave in the first episode of Star Trek: TNG???

It's bloated to the sky!

A PPC AOS4.0 native browser with Java and CSS support is what we want.

Thinking again..
Yup, you have a huge point there: there's no chance to get flash plugin for mozilla on ppc.... So actually why bother? One who wants could launch mozilla form some Unix box using X11, or use RDesktop/VNC with Windblows box.

Don't have too big a cache either, 50mb is probably more than enough and if your on a fast unlimited adsl drop it down to a couple of mb.

3. port tunneling

Yeah, second, a history for the AmigaShell would be the
missing piece to make it perfect

I thought that was a given - not much point in having scrollbars if there is no history to scroll back to, is there?

btw you can log things using the recorder command. I don't have the doc in front of me, but I don't see why you couldn't add it to shell-startup so it logs everything, if you really wanted to.

What kind of filesystem are you using for storing the IBrowse cache? I suggest to create a small partition with SFS for it.
