The 450 fixes were upto July 05, there have been a lot more since then!
Additionally a lot of issues that have been discovered under the latest OS4beta have also been addressed, which in turn leads to extra stability on the other platforms aswell.
Couldn't resist, a snippet on bugs from fvwm2 man pages (no pun intended): Quote: BUGS As of fvwm 2.2 there were exactly 46.144 unidentified bugs. Identified bugs have mostly been fixed, though. Since then 12.25 bugs have been fixed. Assuming that there are at least 10 unidentified bugs for every identified one, that leaves us with 46.144 - 12.25 + 10 * 12.25 = 156.395 unidentified bugs. If we follow this to its logical conclusion we will have an infinite number of unidentified bugs before the number of bugs can start to diminish, at which point the program will be bug-free. Since this is a computer program infinity = 3.4028e+38 if you don't insist on double-precision. At the current rate of bug discovery we should expect to achieve this point in 4.27e+27 years. I guess I better plan on passing this thing on to my children....
Don't despair, keep on the good work Jack edit: my 100-th post (and made it more readable)

One thing that would be handy would be a way for all the rules posts to be prominantly and easily accessible from the main page.
Either create a way to "sticky" them (make them always appear at the top) or create a special link that takes you to a page containing them all. If we "sticky" them, though, they might be better off only "stickied' on the main page of a given subforum. Say, the rules post for the hardware development forum (if there is one) appears stickied on the top page of the hardware development forum, but not the tops-posts-of-all-the-forums page. In this case, then, there would need to be a link on the top-posts-of-all-the-forums page that would then take you to a page containing just the stickied posts of all the forums, that way, someone who only posts from the top-posts-of-all-the-forums page would still (be able to) see the rules posts for those forums...
edit:
Another thing that would be nice to have: On the main page, where it shows the top posts from all the threads mixed together, it should be possible to mouse over the little icon that represents the forum the post is from, and have it show a balloon-text thingy identifying the forum name. And clicking on the little icon should take you to that forum page.

When I download archives from Aminet, I always download the appropriate .readme file along with it, so that the dir that contains the archives also contains a buncha readme files.

@LiveForit Quote: You can easily wrap the TD64 functions to native NSD64, by setting up a fake device, you can easily do that on a one to one bases. Couldn't it be generic ? Let's say we have this generic handler named TD64CompatibilityHandler then you instanciate this handler by giving it : - the device to make compatible ex a1ide.device, - the fake compatible device ex: a1ideTD64.device, Then this generic handler will add to the system the new device (here a1ideTD64.device) and will redirect (after some wrapping) to a1ide.device. Just an idea...

Just can't stay away

Quote: Is USB device implementation TD64 compatible ? I very much doubt that. If a partition is less than 4GB and all of it is in the lower 4GB of the disk then most filesystems will use the normal CMD_READ/CMD_WRITE instead of the TD64/NSD64 commands as they are not necessary and also slower. Probably this is what happened in this case.

Quote: Would it be difficult to add TD64 support to OS4 so we could have access to other filesystems? It's not a matter of which system is better or worse You can easily wrap the TD64 functions to native NSD64, by setting up a fake device, you can easily do that on a one to one bases. For example having a device called a1ide_td64.device that forwards the SCSI command to a1ide.device. Having tow different standards to deal whit for block device developer is going to make thing complicated, and more testing might be need for every device added to the system, so it make no sense to add TD64 code there, but to change the filesystem to support the OS provided the code comes from a Linux GPL source, it should be obtainable, if not we can always port it over again if we really need it? Quote: it's a problem of accessing more filesystems. AFAIK there's no one working on a NTFS or ext2 filesystem for OS4 For most it not problem not having access to this file-systems, but I guess there some cases where you have removable devices that are formatted whit NTFS or some other kind of file system.

People at work are always impressed that you can save the streams to MP3 in realtime. Something I don't think even WinAmp lets you do.
Not a big deal if you know how to do it. Mplayer can capture stream,. xstreammp3 can do it(play and dump the stream simultaneously, using rexx ) Xmms un linux can dump the playback as raw pcm (afair), mplayer is capable of dumping pcm as well (on AOS4 probably too). On AOS one can select the "failsave" (afair) AHI audio driver. Probably there's a way to do it with Winamp.... Jack.

What is strange OTOH is that people (Haymiga) told us that he made it work via usb whereas he's unable to do it via ide !?! Would be interesting to know why... Is USB device implementation TD64 compatible ?
