hi there.

some of the button graphics look "strange". (and other stuff)

1. look at the "reply" and the "report" buttons below this message.
the reply button has a nice shadow below it. the reply button shadow looks (very) slightly different. also the colors look a little bit different. i have the impression, that the color depth differs. "reply" looks better.

2. the bigger buttons (reply, new topic, online, offline, ...) have a strange red bar below them. they also have a real shadow. but what is that "red bar" supposed to be? i don't like the look of them.

3. the "_MD_UP" button (yes - that is the tooltip of it), the one to go up the thread below this message, does visually not fit to the other buttons at all if you ask me. it has a white background and a black border. no other button has this. the other "green buttons" look better.

4. next to each name in a thread is written [image] - what does this mean?
i'd like to see the name in a little more bigger font - or different. browsing a thread it is sometimes hard to see who wrote a comment. other sites (well, guess which one) show this a little bit clearer.

thanks and

workbench problem

well, a workbench drawer window does not behave correct when scrolling.

try this:

- open ramdisk. the drawer should show at least one file (icon mode). the window should have no scrollbars. use "resize to fit" to make that sure
- now scroll up or down by using the *buttons* in the window border (you cannot using the scrollbars as the window contents fit completely in the window)
- now the vertical scrollbar is visible - that is correct
- scroll up/down by using the scrollbar now - either drag it or click inside the empty part of it, so that the content of the window fits again completely in the window

--> the scrollbar still is visible now for scrolling. it is not "refreshed".
if you're using the scroll buttons instead it is.

seems to be a bug if yoou ask me

@zant
I agree "Equilibrium" has certain resemblance to Wachowski brothers' masterpiece, but the movie has its own strong points which make it a classic on its own. IMHO of course

I'll try to see "Code 46" as soon as possible, as well as "A Scanner Darkly" (yes, I am a big fan of both Blade Runner and Philip K. Dick)

Aac+ v2 (aka mpeg 4) might be a problem for m68k hardware-wise (the decompression is afaiu more cpu-intensive than of mp3)
On ppc mplayer should tackle it without problem. The internal aac decoder (some snapshot of libgaad) of mplayer does a better job than the more up-to-date libfaad. Wma should be resolved by mplayer (rc1 has an extensive liet of windblows-related formats supported internally)

Got a 6GB one with 2.5" lead about here somewhere.

Also a 3GB 3.5" one with a 2.5" to 3.5" lead too also has a split power cable to attached to the floppy port.

Both fit in an A1200 you just need to take the top RF shield of for a 3.5" and drop it in a anti-stat bag.

Re: CD32

Back when i bought the CD32 version, i really thought the intro would be something of an ansimated comic strip with characters just like the ones on the CD case (those little fat soldiers), now that would have been fun.
Little did i know it was a "real life" clip of the devs aping around in the park...
hmmm, an AGA version would have been great, yeah

I suppose it was for the novelty factor as people struggled to use the vast space available compared to floppy.

Would it have hurt them to have done a full AGA version with CD tracks and 'proper' cut scenes? Ah well - I can dream...

I'd go for the WHDLoad install, it covers everything, plays fast and smooth

Wow. If this could be made to work on OS4 then it would really help solve the games issue.

If existing Torque engine games could be easily ported over then this would be very useful to getting more interest in OS4.

How long do you think it would take to port fully?

Some CD Roms for the A1200 come with CD32 emulators.

Failing that just get a CD32 from EBay. I don't think you're missing much. AFAIK it is just an FMV intro sequence: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1075560399001972892

What games runs on this game engine?

What you see in the photo is the game engine (client/server) running native on OS4. It uses SDL and OpenGL so I can only make it run in fullscreen, otherwise I would have taken the photo in windowed mode on workbench.

The buttons and stuff looks like windows because the GUI skin used in the demo game is very similar to windows.
