@Chip

Which KingCon version do you have? Also filesize and md5sum would help, maybe he has a different version.

Hopefully we can get ACK back into these forums as well so you don't have to ask me the questions next time.

These are news. Crossing fingers for Adam (and for the mobo getting in one piece from France:) ) Is it smell of modules in the air or what?

@ssolie

Yeah I always asumed that it was not as easy to fix for them as it may seem.

So no bashing on the aweb team by anyone now, remember they have done a great job bringing aweb to us!

Re: Downloads with AWeb

Unless it happens in other browsers then it's a problem with aweb. Unfortunately aweb does not understand the content disposition tag.

"Content-Disposition: attachment; filename='filename'"

I've talked to one of the aweb guys and they know about the problem, but also said that it's unlikely that they will add this functionality.

There is a way to configure apache to handle this internally somehow (or so I believe anyway), but I have no idea how to configure apache to do that. On some precofigured apache setups it happens, on others not.

A few weeks back when I had to move the site to a backup server (And it's still there) some people reported that the same problem happened in other browsers, seemingly random depending on what ISP they had. But afaik I've fixed that, plus added resume capability during a long programming session digging through http protocol descriptions mixed in with pulling the hair off my head. But I hope that problem is fixed anyway.

I would also like to say that development-related suggestions might be better aimed at UtilityBase

ah-ha! So it's a problem with AWeb. That's too bad since AWeb has the stability IBrowse is currently lacking, but IBrowse has the ability to download correctly. It'll be nice when we get a browser that has both together.

When I try to download a .lha file from OS4Depot with AWeb the filename in the ASL requester is always 'download.php'. Is this a problem with OS4Depot or do I need to correct a configuration in AWeb?

Just remember this everyone. Our primary goal is to be a friendly helpfull amiga website and that is what we are going to try our best to accomplish. However we do not have all the time in the world to spend on developing features, amigans are getting older getting families, jobs and other commitments. So even while the staff feels that we want to do as much as possible as soon as possible, it may not happen as fast as one might wish. This site will grow slow or fast depending on the time and motivation of our staff members. Just be patient and things will happen eventually.

But first and primarily we want to provide you all with a nice calm helpfull place to be! :)

@Jack:

Same happened with amiga.org.
That's why we are here, to have a clean and less noisy place where we can discuss and help people without getting some SPAM into our face.

I like it! Especially the anti-trolling part (just try to visit AW.net threads these days ) Just keep this place clean and remember this:
if one throws dirt on someone else he might get his hands dirty as well...
