can be a PITA sometimes

@Zettmaster

First off, I know nothing about programming, or interpreting crash logs, but....

All four crashlogs are crashing on the Hunk kicklayout file, and the counter special register.

When trying to install OS4Final from the install CD my booting froze at the hunk.library.kmod. I had to restart and the next try my system booted from the CD.

I think a devoloper needs to check out the hunk.library.kmod.

So, it doesn?t make it easier if one has the sourcecode?

I was already starting to point out the package on Aminet
which has sourcecode included (RAPlay it was).
Which i am at the moment actually using together with a
rewritten script for use with AWeb.
Of course, as soon as your OS4 version turns up, i can at
least update it.
But it would be MUCH nicer to have a Curty-plugin
err...TuneNet plugin

@Raziel

The problem with RealAudio is you need to support RTSP as well. Actually, RTSP is easy, but you also need to figure out RTP and some other stuff, as well as the codec.

MPlayer will happily stream RealAudio over RTSP. I don't know how easy it is to get the relevant bits out of the code and put them in a plugin, but the RTSP stuff needs to be in TuneNet direct.

btw, I've ported RAPlay - it'll turn up on Aminet shortly. It won't stream over RTSP though. I'll see if it is possible to make it into a plugin (unless someone else beats me to it - can't get my head around it at the moment)

Some resources for RTSP:
http://www.rtsp.org (try the RFCs)
http://www.vovida.org (check out librtp)
Good luck!

Re: Ethernet device for Realtek 81x9 chips

@rwo

Well, it's an alpha version and so it hasn't to support everything from the start... additionally i wrote it for the cards i had around in first place ;)

8129 support shouldn't be a big problem... but i didn't find any docs for it on the realtek server, though AFAIK it only differs from 8139 in the PHY being external via MII.. have to check that when i find the time *sigh* .. do you have a 8129 card? I don't so i'd need someone to actually test it..

Regarding the supported versions: RTFM I stated in the readme that all 8139 chips should be supported. i couldn't test all though.. that's why i released this alpha version.

@salass00

I suspect the alignment is the problem, I didn't know that on account of there being practically no documentation for pointerclass.

Odd that it worked before... hmm... I'll give it a try.

Working...thanks

Would it be possible to let the GUI unhide/come up through
the Docky even if one specifies -nogui, maybe with a new

Me too, though regarding the AmigaAmp playlists you should be able to use these in TuneNet as well.

Just get rid of the #?.m3u pattern in the TuneNet Load Playlist requester and select an AmigaAmp playlist.

Cheers,
Bean.

Ethernet device for Realtek 81x9 chips
Just popping in
Just popping in

Hello folks,

After a long time I decided to publish the current alpha version of my OS4 native SANA2 ethernet device for Realtek 81x9 chips, which will show up shortly on Aminet/os4depot. Of course you should read the included Readme, but i'll repeat the most important points here, just to be sure.. besides that, this thread my serve as a first-support-thread if you have problems with the device or questions or whatever.

1) It's ALPHA! That means there will probably show up some problems. You've been warned.

2) It supports 8139 (100Mbit) and 8169 (1000Mbit) Realtek chips. For a bit more details, see the readme.

3) If you encounter any problems, please check your serial line or memory buffer (DumpDebugBuffer)! If i can't verify the problem ad hoc, please be prepared to test a special debug version with lots of debug output (which i'll then send to you).

Thanks for reading, testing, reporting! Have fun and a happy new year 2007

Edit: Removed one paragraph as i decided to open a thread on aw.net too.. no offense, but theres simply more traffic than here (yet) and i *need* more user input..
