Hi Mawrick,
Thanks for explaining what was behind your being stuck, and trying it out (to see if my problem might have been the same).
I obviously have some other problem then.
My A1 XE goes through to select linux or AOS, after I pick AOS, does a bunch more things then has a black screen, for, like I said 3 to 7 minutes, then finally boots up. No idea why.

Support Amiga Fantasy cases!!! How to program: 1. Start with lots and lots of 0's. 10. Add 1's, liberally. "Details for OS 5 will be made public in the fourth quarter of 2007, ..." - Bill McEwen Whoah!!! He spoke, a bit late.

That's probably an outdated piece of information you found there. The way (that I know of, at least) to customize the ContextMenus menus is to edit ENVARC:ContextMenus.cfg -- the format should be more or less be obvious by studying the existing entries. But do save a backup, just in case. Quote: also what about the prefs program for it? the docs tell: "The Prefs program is being worked on." is this still true? Well, at least it is true that such a program has not been finished and/or released. Whether one is being worked on presently, I don't know. Best regards, Niels

@Rigo
What does the file hosting side have to do to support it? Ie can I add support for amiupdate on OS4Depot?

I've released a working Datatypes plugin for this version of TuneNet: http://aminet.net/package/mus/play/tunenet_dtThis will allow you to play file types that you have Datatypes for (eg. WAV, 8SVX, etc) Chris

I mostly don't like the custom looks because they're not usable for anything other than looking at. But yours is REALLY nice! Thank you I try to keep things as easy and clean as possible, retaining at the same time some sort of basic elegance - if you're interested, the path I followed is kind of summarized by the screenshots here and here. BTW: I released my theme on OS4Depot a long time ago, so anybody can try it out (uhm... maybe maybe there are some minor differences with the current theme, but they should not really matter...). saimo

But can you liscense out theese games to be ported to OS4 by others. I guess it will require time too but i can always loan an a1 of mine out to a good Amiga programmer with lots of time for such a task (ie porting hyperion games to os4).

hi.
reading the contextmenus commodity documentation it says that you can define special context menus inside a tooltype of a program. unfortunately this does not seem to work. anyone tried? missing feature or a bug?
also what about the prefs program for it? the docs tell: "The Prefs program is being worked on." is this still true?
thanks and byebye...

How does this AmiUpdate support work?
A mechanism is being prepared that will allow all applications that support it to work with AmiUpdate, that way, when AmiUpdate is run it will list any updates it finds. Needless to say, AmiUpdate is not released to the public yet (there really isn't enough that supports it yet) but has been used by the OS4 beta testers and devs for the last 2 years. A lot of development has gone into this tool, so it's really just a case of getting enough in the application database. More news will follow... Simon

Warp3D scans for libraries via a DOS call:
err = IDOS->MatchFirst((STRPTR)"libs:Warp3D/HWdrivers/#?.library", ap);
I assume this doesn't work with added assigns, hence it doesn't find any...
now the question is if this behaviour of MatchFirst is correct? as those multi-assigns exist shouldn't this be supported somehow? well, i've got it running - so i just need to remember in case i have to reinstall byebye...

No I don't think it's a hardware problem. You might want to try setting locking mode to automatic for quake-games... @Rogue
How come you are still considering a native version of Shogo when you recently ruled out Heretic 2 as being too old.
Out of curiosty, which games will we see in the future. Wasn't Sin completed for WarpOS years ago and what are we likely to see come out of the Inca Gold deal. Is work going on with the "inspiring" secret title. Am I right in thinking that the Worms Armageddon licence is not valid for OS4, does that mean Hyperion lost money on that one.
I look forward to seeing/playing what you do next.

Ah, that'll be down to IBrowse.
IBrowse doesn't yet support full alpha channels. Basically, It takes the alpha channel at 50% & cuts it. i.e. The image shows up either solid, or transparent with no gradual alpha calculated in between.
AFAIK, there's no way around this until something gets updates with IBrowse. Changing the IB settings so that it uses an "external" image decoder for PNG's doesn't even sort it, even though we know the datatype supports alpha channels fully.
Sadly, for nice shaded/antialiased images on our web pages via IBrowse, we'll have to wait a bit.
FuZion.
