Re: Status of PageStream?
Amigans Defender
Amigans Defender

@ajs

I have 5.0.3.3 as OS4final doesn't seem to have helped much. The main thing that stops me using it in preference to the old 68k v4, is the page window doesn't update properly when you scroll.

I very rarely use it anyway, I only bought it to support Pagestream on OS4.

I would like to see a finished working version though.

Hopefully it will all work out for Deron.

Chris

Holding Ctrl down on a USB keyboard on startup doesn't "boot with no start-up sequence" as it is supposed to. Looks like the input isn't being read from USB at that stage.

Versions/md5sums of your libraries?
What kind of gfx card do you have?
How did you installed OS4 Final? Updating or installing from scratch ?

More info please.

A1-XE/G4@933+Radeon7500/64MB, A1200BPPC+BVision
AmigaOS4 on both of course.

It would be nice to see a 68k version released as well -- even with a limited feature set.

Truthfully, the only real change I'm interested in is better icon support (PNG, etc) -- for obvious reasons.

However, at this point, I'd even settle for being able to purchase a license for the "old" version.

Here it is the website of the openGL screensavers I talked you about. There is also the source code available. http://www.reallyslick.com/
I'd love to see any of these in our beloved OS4.0. Give it a try.

Wow impressive looking screen savers, lets hope some one port them over, any way nice way to learn GL I guess

As for the icons refusing to copy by using drag&drop I see you have already run into that problem. The weird thing is that it seems you can do it one minute and the next you can't from the very same icon you just made. I made a whole icon set yesterday and it happened randomly. Especially often when trying to copy stuff into the def icons in anvarc/sys.

I think I know what you problem is. It's just that you are trying to drop icons that have no actual object associated.
Example:
1. create a drawer with an icon
2. remove the drawer and leave the icon
3. try dropping the icon on another drawer... nothing happens!
It's been like this forever.
Right now I've made a test with a project icon and the D&D works, so maybe the problem is only with drawers.

Magellan now supports PNG icons?!

Re: TuneNet Issues under OS4 final

Not too shy to talk

@Orgin,

Probably something to do with the docky. Which I've fixed in the latest version.

Also the to-short-a memory allocation in the previous release doesn't help.

I've got a pretty stable version here, but last night made the mistake in attempting to make my Database class totally thread safe to fix up the occassional "wrong title" issues and the deadlier clear list problems.

I'm now in the depths of task soft-locking mechanisms and Recordset read/write locks..... sigh! ..and before anyone says use PThreads mutex's; the answer is they didn't give the required performance in the current implementation. TuneNet is now almost entirely void of PThreads.

+ I'm back at work, so this'll take a bit longer I'm afraid.

Cheers,
Bean.

P.S. Anyone with loads of issues please download the older version from the TuneNet homepage (www.tunenet.co.uk)!

@bean

Installed mpega.library and threads.library.

It starts up, but accepts no user input. Can't even close the window.

Guess I'll have to wait for the service release.

@Toaks

It doesn't always happen, I can work for an hour and it never happens. Then suddenly the produced icon get's all weird outer boundries, like a meld of the prevous icon and the new images added to the icon. A symptom is that the icon text appears positioned a bit away from the icon as if the icon height is from the old icon images and not the new ones.

Another problem I discovered yesterday is that if you rename the icon in the information window and load an icon image before pressing save things go haywire. So I always have to rename a copied icon before changing the icons images.

As for the icons refusing to copy by using drag&drop I see you have already run into that problem. The weird thing is that it seems you can do it one minute and the next you can't from the very same icon you just made. I made a whole icon set yesterday and it happened randomly.
