is .. just a test user that we can use to see what the site looks like to ordinary users. Admins and moderators have a lot more bang a whistles activated so we use the "Registered" user to test the site as a registered member.

Actually, the bits that have been Amiga-ised look pretty much the same on Mozilla and AWeb (iBrowse looks a bit crappy though). The problem is that a lot of the site is still CSS-only (I'm planning to work on that this weekend - might have to give 3Cag a miss).

Greetings All.
Nice place. I look forward to being part of a
constructive community.

Re:Appearance
Looks fine on AWeb, but I still had to fall back
to Windows for registration and to post.
For some reason my AWeb usually fails to post
messages, here and at a few other sites.

I'll be checking in often. If I fail to post frequently
it's only because starting my windows machine
is such a depressing thing to do.

Couple of quick observations...

The title banner has got to change, the current one is nearly unreadable here and the reply & report buttons are too close together, you get accidental reports same as on AW when they had them next to each other.

Edit: ok, the banner is partly my monitor settings, turning the contrast way down so everything looks dull and boring makes the banner readable. maybe making the text shadow a bit darker would help.

@outcast

Staff members have not been "upgraded" yet - see a couple of pages back.

The date format likely needs fixing somewhere in the depths of the Xoops code.

@Jerry

Various bits of the editor don't work on AWeb, such as the smilies pop-up. I'm more interested in getting the PM functions working properly on AWeb at the moment to worry about much else. (this is important to do before the site launches I think)

I guess this quote from the binutils manual will answer your question:

Warning: windres is not always built as part of the binary utilities, since it is only useful for Windows targets.

Never tried it... I might give it a go sometime, but no hurry.

Last time I used Linux, I believe it was Mandrake and Suse...
