On-board Radeon 7000. Probably it's your gfxcard that is not supported with overlay.

@salass00 Quote: Both DvPlayer and MPlayer work correctly here with overlay. Which gfx board do you use? Don?t tell me a Radeon9800... Quote: Have you tried SDL video mode in MPlayer? According to the news item this is the only software mode now (which I assume means not overlay) Yup, tried all of them, both displays a black picture and btw. yes i do use the G3 version, for i am on a G3

no and no... The led goes on only during boot

Trouble is, the time you save booting up, you lose waiting for the internet to connect after WB shows. Some net apps will crash if you try to start them before you connect.

Same problem, I just changed my burner from UDMA 2 to UDMA 1 & my final cd booted for the first time for me. try playing with the DMA setting.

@Raziel Quote: DVPlayer (in it?s latest incarnation) has overlay turned on by default, go into Icon Information and put NOOVERLAY Heh, thanks a lot Raziel, that did it indeed ...aww, so many nice people around

@Raziel Quote: I don?t have video playback either with DVPlayer (regged or special OS4 version) or with MPlayer (latest cvs version) Judging from previous posts of yours you have a Radeon9800, which is not (yet) supported to use overlay. DVPlayer (in it?s latest incarnation) has overlay turned on by default. Go into Icon Information and set NOOVERLAY (without the "()") That should do it... No idea on the MPlayer part, with the last release v6b3 it works, though. edit: small polishing...

Configure your tooltypes in Prefs/DefIcons to fix your problem. (I also like using the "AUTO" tooltype.)

OK, NOW it?s getting scary... I don?t have video playback either with DVPlayer (regged or special OS4 version) or with MPlayer (latest cvs version) Not even when booting from OS4 CD I just get sound playback, video stays black, do i miss a lib somewhere?

@rwo Here it is the website of the openGL screensavers I talked you about. There is also the source code available. http://www.reallyslick.com/ I'd love to see any of these in our beloved OS4.0. Give it a try.

@All i was getting 20+second resets and remembered the old hack Run >NIL: C:AddNetInterface >NIL: DEVS:NetInterfaces/~(#?.(info|off)) to speed up the reboot i noticed in new SS on OS4final had this C:AddNetInterface QUIET DEVS:NetInterfaces/~(#?.info) so i added Run >NIL: to the start of it making this Run >NIL: C:AddNetInterface QUIET DEVS:NetInterfaces/~(#?.info) and shed 10 seconds of the reset time

@salass00 Repaired it by adding a c: assign to where the sdl-config?s reside, although it seems i have more problems, another project won?t build anymore, doesn?t find some header files, well i?ll see what i can do by fiddling some more Is it only me or is the speed with building AWESOMELY increased??? Building ScummVM went from approx 28 mins down to UNDER 10
