Movie Recommendation

Amazing Grace. I just got back home from seeing the movie about the battles fought?and eventually won?by William Wilberforce to end the slave trade in the British Empire during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Other than Albert Finney, who plays John Newton, I had not heard of any of the players before. That being said, however, the movie was absolutely superb, moving me near to, or completely to tears several times. The finale rendition of the hymn itself was particularly moving.

Sadly, there are more slaves in the world today than there ever were during Wilberforce's lifetime. The war is not over, not yet won; and in the same way that Wilberforce fought, so need we to fight today.
