Grim Fandango now finally works!!!

After some months that it was when I downloaded the game on torrent I have seen the first introductory intro scenes of the game and it seems pretty cool!!!

I changed the path of the "residualrc" file from "grim" next to "GRIMDATA" and the Residual engine starts working and after some seconds I have the first screens of Grim Fandango on a window!

I am very happy because this game must be a jewel and now I am going to play it.

I have some problems with the sound of my new ESI JULI but this must be on another thread.

Going to try the game and enjoy right now!!!

This is actually great news! Grim Fandango should be a real classic!

Now, I just hope that AmigaKit will make a nice package like they did with Monkey Island 3 and Sam & Max. That was very nicely done!

By the way, does this mean that Monkey Island 4 is getting closer to AmigaOS?

Is there some newer version of Residual you use, or is it the old one in OS4Depot (dated 21-May-06)?

He's probably using the old one from OS4Depot.

I can't overcome some issues with the present SDK when i
try to build it.
There were some commits over the past weeks/months and i'll
keep on, maybe at least when the new SDK is available it
will be possible again for me to build an OS4 exe or maybe
someone of the devs "accidently" commits a patch to the
problem

Of course, it could also be stupid me who just don't know
a rats butt about coding while a fix is probably very
simple ... well

Monkey Island 4 is a possible game supported by Residual on the future but on the documents it says that it is not confirmed yet.
Monkey Island 4 is a very desired game by me and I believe it is great.

I hope that sometime when the autor release a new version of Residual we can get support for Monkey Island 4 and other LUA games too.

The principal limitation of Grim Fandango now corresponding
to Residual is that it can't save the game at any position at least as it's commented on the docs.
I have to try it anyway.

Anyone nows when can we get a new version of Residual?

Be sure to tell us if you're able to save! Although it looks like we might have to wait for a better version of residuel.

And I wouldn't mind having Amigakit supply both games at same stage like they did before. Great value from a nice company.

The small Amiga install disc was excellent. If I had my way, they would also slap an "Amiga" sticker on the cover. Just for fun - and a little bit of showoff!

Shamelessly the save option doesn't work because when you type a letter or number for the name of the save it exits Residual.
