TuneNET stream encoder
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

See User information
Hi Paul.

I decided to upgrade my ancient TuneNET install as it keeps giving DSI errors on launch now for some reason. I could click ignore and then carry on but things got sticky after a while necessitating a reboot.

Anyway...

I dragged my old beta into a backup dir and downloaded latestone from your site. Unpacked into ram: and then dragged into programs (couldn't see an installer).

ok.. problems start now....

No mp3 codec... cured

dragged previous one into plugin dir

Stream....

No Lame encoder.. stumped...

I cant find this one in the old TuneNET install. I suspect its in C: how do I point the new install to it. There is no entry in User-Startup for TuneNET.

Help please.. With sugar on top

Way don?t you download the lame decoder again, and then check the lame decoder readme how to install it?

Get the latest archive from Os4depot, and get the latest lame plugin for TuneNet from the same place.

All probs will then be sorted.

I gave TuneNET a plug over at Dynamic-Drive too.

More out of frustration than anything. There's supposed to be hundreds of people coding open source stuff.

Thanks for the links. I've already got Icecast installed but can't configure it.. and I sure as hell aint gonna spend hours reading reams & reams of info just to discover how to do something that should be available with a simple click of a mouse button.

I also downloaded the linux version of Shutcast but it needs winamp. I've googeld for that too but keep slamming up against a brick wall.

Damn sight easier just to install latest TuneNET and plugins.

Guess what.....

BINGO

works first time round... NO faffing about.

Lots to be said for AmigaOs and its programmers !!

Not really...

The Winamp team WAS the XMMS team before they devved winamp that why the skins are compatible.

XMMS came to a halt then so they forked off to Audacious but dev on that died too.

According to google.
