Afternoon all...

Some of you might recognise me - I've been frequenting A.org, AW.Net, Amibay etc for a long time now.

I only recently started looking/ lurking around here and thought I'd register.

I sold off all my classic amiga hardware and most of the software last year. All I have now is a box of games and no miggy to play them on...

However, I'm very excited about the X1000 and the recent OS4.1 update, so much so that I'm earmarking some money to buy the X1000 to replace my 5 year old PC as my main computer.

I'm not a born programmer (I am a SAS "programmer" by trade, although I don't really count that as programming!) however something about the new hardware (especially the XCore) and the OS4.1 SDK, as well as the vibrant community that at long last seems to be on the up, have made me seriously think about learning to code on this new hardware.

Anyway, enough from me...

I look forward to participating in the success of the site.

Cheers,

AndyC

Welcome to the (slightly less) mad house

The X1000 expectations seem to be attracting more people every day - old Amigans as well as totally new users. This is really nice.

About SAS vs. programming: Don't undersell yourself. I did some SAS about 25 years ago, and it was definitely programming back then. I worked close to a group of SAS programmers in more recent years, and I had a clear feeling that they were programming as well. (Even though we used to tease them about it and talk about "the SAS group and the developer group" .)

Of course SAS is many things and can be used in many ways. Sort of like (sans comparaison) Hollywood on the Amiga.

Best regards,

Niels
