Personally i very much hope it will be Moana, and if there is any problems because of which it was on hold/drop, then now they sorted. It will give us more users and developers for next 5-8 years for sure. And even if some of os4 devs/users says that old hw is bad, and new is good, and all kind of other arguments: they wrong and os4 on macs will be for sure good and right. The same as with peg2 it was, for example.
With having ability to run os4 on cheap ppc-macs (yes, they old, but whatever), some of old developers may back for sure.
But its just too right and good to be true, we do not search for easy ways, and do not want to sort problems even if there is some which prevent us to make port on macs, right ?:)
Why would Acube release OS4 for a Mac Mini though? that wouldn't just be shooting themselves in the foot, it'd be taking a rocket launcher to both feet. They'd destroy sales of their own products - who would buy a 460 when you can get a faster mini for far, far less? And where would their revenue from Moana come?

You for real think that they produce sams "only because of os4" ? They do it for their own purposes, and os4 come as bonus.

Anyone who want that "brand new hw" will get "brand new hw". Anyone who do not want to get brand new hw, will get mac for 100$ and help os4 to grow.
But in general there is no "revenue" from amiga and amigaos at all, but when there will be new developers and users (even just 100 more), revenue will be new SW and more interesting time spending with new persons which can come.
Anyway, for me its all quite understandable - no support of macs = no new cheap hw of the same level as old macs = no new sw soon = no users who will buy anything or use anything => fail.
We do not need to protect our problems, we need to make all best for users and developers if we want to attract them. Adequate ppls no need any excuses about, if we want to attract them.
All what is need its to support one single laptop model and the most powerful g5 one, and that all. But as i say, we on amigaos4, there is no easy ways :)
I think Moana was originally ACube's "idea". They would sell it like they sold AOS4 for Pegasos.
What we need is not AOS4 on old Mac hW, except on MacPowerbook. (in my eyes it could be doable by buying the porting support (HAL) from MOS team. (win-win for everyone IMHO))
But I rather wish m* to be minimig2, miniminimig or multiSAM (SAM with multicore CPU). Perhaps also mSAM, a new very low cost mini/nano size PPC machine.
It could also be mos for SAM, but only MOS team sells MOS.

I think Moana (MacMini support)is not a bad idea, now. OS is probably mature enough (or very close) to support some modern standards (radeonHD, some kind of multi processing, Gallium). All that you will get ONLY with a MODERN and NEW HW and AOS4.2...but if one want low priced HW with quite fast CPU but with no SATA, no PCI-E, very limited GPU RAM, why not? Especially now, when they fail to deliver low priced netbook. ...and ACube could sell a special, MacMini version of AmigaOS with a higher price. Who knows...
