Does anyone else observe this behavior when using the last release of mplayer to play wmv files of a resolution 1280x720px HD ?
The left third of the display is full colour the right two thirds are grayscale or black and white.
Is this a known perculiarity?
My apologises if it has already been discussed and either solved or documented for resolving later.
thanks for any insight or explanation
I am running SAM + OS4.1 + 512ram + 160gHD + 320gHD + SFS2 on all partitions aside from DH0 which is SFS

FWIW its not just SAM - I get this on my A1XE w/G3. Could be the Radeon 7000 ? I believe this is the same chipset as the SAM...
edit: I'm using MPlayer v52.1 Leitmotiv version (05/11/2007)
2nd edit: sometimes flv's (such as YouTube ones) play out-of-sync - particularly Bill Bailey's tribute to Kraftwerk - the pictures are way faster than the soundtrack...

Yes, I was referring to those. Unfortunately, as jahc has already discovered, they don't always work. We'll have to see if the problems will disappear with a newer port of MPlayer.
Are we getting closer? I'm sick of streaming my favourite youtube clips on the PC. It's a waste of traffic! I want to download them once and save them for good on my Sam. :)
For now you could always download to you pc and then transfer them over to Sam and/or play them on the pc once theyre downloaded. Sure its not ideal, but it saves you wasteing your traffic.
@thread Without having a Sam myself I cant really give many details, but I recently sent a 1280x720 wmv video to a friend and he seemed to have it work fine (albiet slide show city), so I guess it is possible.

me too, results are a mixed bag as well - sometimes it improves things, sometimes not. Bill bailey came out of it with the pictures at the same rate as the audio, but a second or two out of step !

I observed this same thing with my uA1. I also saw it using DVPlayer. Then I enabled the NOOVERLAY tooltype in DVPlayer and the video looks fine when played. I also noticed the aspect ratio is different when overlay is enabled vs. disabled. A clue perhaps?
the Two-Colours huge video is not a problem of mplayer. It "seems" a problem on the overlay on SAM
I'm working in a new "test" version of mplayer that i'll put on my site and not on os4depot since it will be final. If you want try it and test all kind of files.
mplayer will come along ffmpeg (on os4depot with gui)
1) Arexx port is not enabled 2) Commands during play are not enabled 3) Fullscreen is not enabled 4) VCD support is not enabled 5) Cache support is not enabled 6-999) a lot of other stuff is not enabled
