OWB version 2.6 is available now, new features in this version are support for an unicode fallback font, tooltypes for configuring the unicode font, min. font size and font DPI, a progress bar and clipboard support.
For the 3 or 4 users still having problems with programs using shared objects I've build a statically linked executable of OWB 2.6, but since the static libraries are older there may be more problems and everyone else should use the normal version.
Big big big great THANKS !!! Btw. It looks like you can put more time to OWB now because you're releasing new versions every day.
This 2.6 version is much faster than any previous version of the OWB i think. And it doesn't use too much memory either. I think it's now possible to use this as a main browser instead of the IBrowse. Scrolling and text editing is a little bit slow still but I hope it will be better someday and it doesn't matter too much.
Keep up the good work. Just add that bookmark feature back...
Well, if somebody could create a import-bookmarks-from-IBrowse-to-OWB tool...
Edit: I just tested copying text to clipboard and I got only garbage.
Rock lobster bit me - so I'm here forever X1000 + AmigaOS 4.1 FE "Anyone can build a fast CPU. The trick is to build a fast system." - Seymour Cray
- and scroll down the page with the mouse wheel or the down cursor key. Notice how the underline from the link "RISC OS 6 FAQ" comes rushing up the page, as if it tries to escape the link it belongs to? It returns to its rightful place when you scroll back down. Looks funny, though.

I know about that bug, the underlines are moved twice as much as they should vertically and not at all horizontally, but it's not a bug in the AmigaOS4 port and happens on Linux as well.

Ah, okay. So I assume it is known by the SandLabs folks, then?
BTW, while PageUp/Down work fine and are very useful, is there any chance of getting Home and End (and/or AUISG equivalents like Ctrl+Up/Down) to work as well?
Great work! How I have to donate to have an iconify button & menu?

Scrolling will be much faster in the next version. But like in the Blastoise port the optimized scrolling is too fast causing some rendering problems I have to fix before the next update

2.6 (24.8.2008) - Updated to SVN revision 454. - Disabled SVG support for now, I'll enable it again after switching from SDL to Cairo. - Added support for an unicode fallback font. - Added MINFONTSIZE, FONTXDPI, FONTYDPI and UNICODEFONT tooltypes. - Removed superfluous gadget updates which prevented icon dragging on the workbench from working even if nothing changed. - Fixed mouse movement events. - Implemented progress bar. - Implemented clipboard support.
OWB will use Cairo, and Cairo does use Portel/Duff.
Thx for all the effort in porting OWB, so far it works very well here on my A1.
However there seems to be an issue with the scrolling, I've tried the site www.spiegel.de, it was loaded completly but after scrolling down the page OWB completly freezes the system, only a hard-reset was working. I've tried it several times and it is indeed repeatable. I've started OWB also from CLI to check for any debug messages, but nothing was shown there.
Also OWB reports for javascript screen.width and screen.height the dimensions of the window instead of the underlying screen resolution. Not that important, just FYI.
Please keep up the superb work with OWB and again a big thank you for your efforts.

I will kiss you if you manage fast scrolling. I remember those rendering problems from the v1.x versions, but if you can manage scrolling at that speed, then..... great success!
Woohoooo!!!!! I've been able to use my internetbank in AmigaOS for the first time in a looong time (10-15 years)! The feeling was quite amazing . Thank you so much!
