... and fonts. No other changes in OWB 2.19 (10.12.2008):
- Added support for FONTKERNING tooltype to enable font kerning, since
??it makes text input fields unusable it's still disabled by default.
- Now rounds all font sizes down to integers, makes the results less
??precise but avoids getting different spaces between the same chars
??depending on the context.
- Added FONTHINTER tooltype to overwrite the font specific hinter
??settings configured with TypeManager (0 = don't overwrite, 1 = best
??available, 2 = best available (light), 3 = always autohinter, 4 =
??always autohinter (light), 5 = no hinter, default = 3) and changed the
??defaults of FONTXDPI and FONTYDPI to 96. Now the results with the
??AmigaOS font engine look very similar to the ones of libfreetype, and
??if you still don't like it you should have enough options for changing
??it.

Hi joerg.

I was thinking maybe I should make a mime editor based on reaction GUI, so you can include it in your OWB.

I will only do it if you?re interested.

I don't think a separate OWB editor for selecting the applications to use with specific file types, once downloading is implemented in the AmigaOS 4.x port of OWB at all, makes sense, we have DefIcons for that already.
Since DefIcons doesn't use a mime type, which can be application/octet-stream for anything, nor makes a guess based on parts of the file name, but uses the contents of the files for checking the file type it's IMHO better.

I have to say that it's looking a lot better now fonts-wise, doesn't look as much like an "alien" application any more... Thank you, and keep up the great work!!

I was thinking more like a open source contribute, .o and .h files you can link in to OWB.

deficons is not covered in the SDK, and deficons.prefs contains a mix of binary and ascii text, whit out some information on how the file is created or an API to read and write deficons its going to be a hack to work whit it, reading the tooltypes from the icons is not a problem

yes checking the content of a file is good idea, but does require the file to be first to be downloaded, not a good idea for a external viewers designed for streaming MP3's like AmigaAMP and TuneNet.

and deficons does not handle command line arguments where well.

arexx scripts and shell commands

%u URL
%f file
%r file requester
%d directory requester.

and so on.
