Hi!

Using the april 1 version of Mplayer I found that it do not exit when playing streaming videos.
The last meassage is the following:

> MPlayer interrupted by signal 2 in module: key_events
>
> Exiting... (Quit)
> read error:: Bad file number
> pre-header read failed

The window of the video is closed, but the process is still there as c:status reports it and the allocated memory is certainly captured:
7.Workbench:> status
Process 6: Loaded as command: mplayer
Process 7: Loaded as command: status
7.Workbench:>

It happens on my micro and on the peg2 too. Could somebody confirm that it happens on every system?

Here is the full output of the event:
6.Workbench:> MPLAYER:

Thanks in advance!

Anyway, could somebody else confirm that bug on his/her system?

I can confirm the bug. In fact I'm now waiting for it to be fixed before releasing the next version of ClipDown. ClipDown 2.0 now plays video and audio files via Mplayer for URL's in the clipboard. The problem I'm having with the new MPlayer is it never returns after playing because MPlayer doesn't return. It works well with the previous version of MPlayer. As an aside, I also added the ability to play or save video's from sites such as YouTube via GetVideo. Unfortunatly at this time the newer YouTube videos need to be saved and can't be played directly.

The Adobe plugin also saves the files first. If the data transfer rate is sufficient you can start playback with mplayer just as fast as with Flash.

Try this line in shell:

c:mplayer cgx_vmem::ALWAYSBORDER mms://vipnrj.yacast.net/nrj_tvhit

And too end ctrl+alt+q

It?s OK! for me and my AmigaOS4.1 on A1

It doesn't work for me.
If it is close by the window close gadget, then the message is something like cannot seek in stream.
If closed by ctrl+c the:
>Exiting... (Quit)
>read error:: Bad file number
>pre-header read failedn

ctr+alt+q is not a known combo here : "No bind found for key '0x9c '. "
