I downloaded mednafen and I want to run SEGA Saturn Roms and all the 17 systems that it emulates.
I renamed 2 BIOS files from Sega Saturn BIOS (USA).bin to sega_101.bin and Sega Saturn BIOS to mpr_17933.bin.
Can you help me?
And I really don't know very much about this piece of emulation.
Thanks in advance
Help me is very important!!! I need to run SEGA roms on Mednafen

Amiga 500 1MB Chip RAM with ACA 500+ACA1232,CD32,Amiga 1300 030/50 Mhz,32MB (now on my hands at least)and Amiga One G3 XE PPC 800 Mhz,ATI Radeon 9250 128 MB,256 MB RAM,Seagate 200 GB HD,2 working DVD drives,X-Arcade double for MAME,Sil0680,4 USB ports,LG
My MD5SUM for my "mpr-17933.bin" is "3240872c70984b6cbfda1586cab68dbe".
That file should go into the "firmware" folder of the Mednafen configuration directory.
But, you are not going to have a good time trying to play Sega Saturn games with Mednafen on your Amiga. Here are the minimum requirements: Quote:
Mednafen's Sega Saturn emulation is extremely CPU intensive. The minimum recommended CPU is a quad-core Intel Haswell-microarchitecture CPU with a base frequency of >= 3.3GHz and a turbo frequency of >= 3.7GHz(e.g. Xeon E3-1226 v3), but note that this recommendation does not apply to any unofficial ports or forks, which may have higher CPU requirements.
I have tried it on an X5020 - and it is not a good experience.
All the other systems work okay, although, PSX is only just playable with an X5020. Anything lesser than that is probably okay with other systems.

Thanks for all explanations and I expected to be able to run SEGA SATURNS roms flawlessly on my AmigaOne X5000/20 but I received a deception with your explanations.
Anyway I am very happy because I configured the joypad for VICE with AmigaInput anywhere and after some months I can play games witn this awesome joypad support.I am very happy and I played Out Run too.
I expect to play some games or roms too.Amiga hasa great variety, richful of amazing emulators.
Thanks anyway

Thank you too.
What about Mednafen configuration? How can I run roms? And which files I needed?
I am dying to see mednafen runnnIng SEGA SATURN ROMS and more

1. Set an environment variable named MEDNAFEN_HOME. For example, in your user-startup:
setenv MEDNAFEN_HOME games:.mednafen
2. Run mednafen by just going to the mednafen installation directory and type "mednafen" assuming that your MEDNAFEN_HOME variable is already established
It should have created some files/folders in games:.mednafen
3. Add ROMS into "firmware", for example, the Sega Saturn ROM or the PSX ROM - whatever system you want to use
4. cd to your game - where it is installed and simply run:
mednafen MyGame.rom
5. Consider changing some of the configuration parameters. The following should pretty much always be done: - Change "cd.image_memcache" to value "1" - Change "sound.period_time" to value "100000"

It is in the README document.
Once you have it configurd then you can avoid the use of the command line by using something like eGame.

I have great expectations for the Amiga in the near future and for my is just important to see new games and be able to play roms on emulators and games like Tower 17 that I still don't have.
About Mednafen I will check later with your explanations. And I want to run all the Roms specially Sega Saturn Ones and Sega 32x.And must be great and very playable I hope.
I will try later

The 32x is currently not supported by Mednafen nor by any other emulator for Amiga. Mednafen is very slow, but if you have atleast a Sam460 or a G4 you may atleast expect to runs decently the 16bit home consoles
I want to know what are the file extension naming of the roms in Mediafen say".rom",".iso" or ".bin!?
I need to know this for sure.

On my case I am happily trying to download and doing it A SEGA Megadrive and SEGA 32x romset that I love to see on my great AmigaOne X5000/20 PowerPC processor with lots of RAM and infinite possibillities.Amiga rules!!!

@samo79 But if it runs decent on SAM460 or MAC if must fly or run fast on AMIGAONE X5000 no?

Mednafen can run fast most of the 16bit consoles on an X5000 hardware while the PSX still only usable ... (Saturn still unplayable on every current Amiga hardware) ... If you don't have atleast an X1000/X5000 better use FinalBurn and FPSE instead
