Update woe's
Just popping in

Ever since installing the July update my system boots to a black screen on first switching on, I have to preform a warm reset to get the workbench.
Now I am experiencing and increased amount of grim reaper's and total lockups at random points, on the whole things are a little unstable. I don't have ant USB devices so haven't had the problems others are having but haven't seen anyone with the same problems as me.
Is there anyone out there that can help?

If possible, boot your system without startup sequence (by holding down the Control key on your keyboard or using both mouse buttons to get into early startup menu) and then enter the following:

set echo on
execute s/startup-sequence

See if it hangs somewhere. My bet would be AddNetInterface. If that is the case, look into the PDF that came with the update for a fix.

Seriously, if you do want to contact me write me a mail. You're more likely to get a reply then.

I shall try that the next time I switch on, though I haven't used the run command for Addnetinterface since OS4 Final.

I tried your suggestion on first boot today but it didn't stop this time everything loaded as normal. The only requesters to be displayed was to close all winows for the intuition to reset, I left them alone and they cleared as the boot progressed.
