GetText

Do we have a port of this util?

for I need GetText() and libintl.h for a quick game port.

no we don't. it was present in an old sdk. i think thomas frieden ported it, but as far as i know, it's obsolete now.

why does it need gettext? try disabling localisation in the configure script.

Something I'm thinking of since long time (without any clue about how hard/possible this would be) is to have in fact a wrapper from GetText() to locale.library GetString() and also a converter from linux's .po files to .cd nd .ct. This would be very, very useful and much more integrated in the system. Also maybe this would solve all our problems about "no localisation does not work my port of XXXX, because something is broken somewhere". Sadly for that one has to have a good understand about how GNUGetText works and how its files are formatted/referenced..

cool idea! if i'd use it instead of a real port of gettext depends on how it would be implemented, if it would preted to be gettext, and thus work transparently and be detected in cofigure scripts etc. then i'd use it, no doubt.

Nothing changed on the gettext front, i presume?

I'd need it too now, for a change made in a port realizing localisation (it's not a must and it will still work fine without it, but it would certainly be cool to have that feature)

HunoPPC have port of it, but he not upload it on os4depot still. Try ask him , i think he have no problems with sharing it with you :)

Simplemail is using an old gettext():
