Many bug fixes in mui. And bug fixes in os4 itself. Making it even more stable. I don't expect so much more. Fi more i take that as a positive suprise.
-- fixes in warp3d -- fixes in mui -- fixes in elf.library.kmod -- some new stuff in WB are added -- rigo do many fixes in terms of reaction classes (and if i remember right in asl requester as well). -- as usuall many small fixes in the os components there and there.
What "maybe" will be, but i will be not in big surpise if not:
-- new shell -- usb2.0 -- fixes in cross-dos (to avoid corrupted sticks and files)
What i hope to see , but what for sure will be not available:
-- integrated prefs-center -- integrated Filer to WB -- initiall gallium3d version -- more works done on sobjses (to make them be always in memory after first loading, and making them "really shared" ). -- and something else :)
yes, a new shell and USB2.0 would be nice. What I'd like a lot would be all Workbench menus to have a shortcut and them to be the same in every language.
One more thing, it would be nice to have the Locale and Input prefs fixed in order not to prevent the OS installation to fail if the MotherBoard clock is not set..
Other than that, I don't know OS4.1 is usually pretty stable for me, but mabye A working printing system? AmiUpdate shipped with the system? Context menus sensitive to the locale language? TimeZone and Locale merged in one GUI? A trashcan thingy? A consistent Style Guide. Unicode support, in order to be able to read/write Asian languages? No, this is far too much, but it would be cool to have this in OS4.2..
@sofisoftware Cairo maybe, but as we can see from the FF alpha release, its pretty buggy for now (i mean exactly bugs related to hw-cairo).
Related to Warp3d for RadeonsHD - there for sure will not any new Warp3D drivers (because it make no sense anymore), and only Gallium3d drivers will be done. Of course it will be somehow nice to have one more warp3d drivers , but i almost on 95% sure there will be no any new warp3d drivers ever.
@Amigo1
For sure whole system:prefs need a rework and mergning in many parts (like you say for timezone and locale one prefs, like merge all screenmode prefs to one prefs with different tabs and so on).
@elwood Its not about free or not free. Let's it be called not update3, but os4.2 and be for sold. Its all about what we all expect in next version of OS. I just fear there is not so much changes which can be classificed as major changes and putted for sold as os4.2. But by logic, imho, update3 will be the latest free update, and next step will be os4.2 (with gallium3d and printing). That sounds logical at least.

-printing via DOT4 laser printer
Something make me think, that printing stuff even not started yet, and will be in progress for os4.2 or what else will be after update3 (imho of course).
usb2.0 fixes in cross-dos (to avoid corrupted sticks and files) better printing support, especially a color correction on PS Printers...
some people may argue that at least cross-dos should be free of charge as it is a bugfix (more or less). And USB 2.0 should be free of charge, because it should have been supported from the start, because SAMs have USB 2.0 Hardware.... (like Deneb USB card coming without Poseidon USB 2.0 Support). But I dnnot care I would still pay...

For a overhaul of the printing system, yes. However 328gts was only requesting Dot4 support with the current priting system (Dot4 is a USB protocol for printer communication, nothing to do with the printer page layout and drivers themselves)
I would like to see Dot4 too, finally be able to use my printer on my Sam.
@Chris Maybe i wrong, but RNO works on DOT driver (as just 3d party driver). So imho even if hyperion think about it, they leave it as it in hope that 3d party programmers will do it (just speculation of course).
- USB 2 support + CrossDOS fixes - New shell - New version of MUI 3.9 (to be able to play with MUI-OWB!) - New Warp3D that fix the latest minor issues and maybe improve the performance - A better Workbench, not so mutch but atleast some improvement, bugfix etc - Some update to the Reaction classes, atleast to let our devs to improve their programs (for example ChrisY and the related GUI bugs in NetSurf) - A fixed virtual memory support and in general the normal fix/improve of the operative system
@kas1e I think you need to be careful about would stuff should be free (i.e. OS4.1 Update 3), and what should be paid (i.e. OS4.2). IMHO:

The above should really be free, as they are just bug fixes.

The New Shell should be paid.
It is debatable whether USB2.0 should be paid (it is a new feature not a bug fix), but I think it would be a nice gesture if USB2.0 was free (as USB memory sticks are ridiculously slow at the moment).

If any of those do arrive, I think they should definitely be paid.

that OS4depot driver from rwo came about from this long thread and unfortunately still has issues
