Does Remote Software into Amiga exist?

Hi all

I would love to be able to remote access my Amiga from work or elsewhere.

Is it possible? If so, what and where?

Maybe it worth to look for vnc server. (Maybe on os4depot? I cannot check from work, sorry.)

A1-XE/G4@933+Radeon7500/64MB, A1200BPPC+BVision
AmigaOS4 on both of course.

If VNC works under AOS4, then that's your solution. I have used it under 3.9 a couple of years ago, and it worked just fine. It was little fun to remote my Amiga from work.

Lets see if I can find any links.

Here's a server for the Amiga:
http://s.guillard.free.fr/AmiVNC/AmiVNC.htm

Here's a client for your other machine:
http://www.realvnc.com/download.html

Maybe that's something to start with.

it seem that port 5900 it's already in use, or

Are you behind a router or using dsl modem's internal dialer and trying to access the A1 from outside? (or similar situation that involves firewall of some device between the machines)

heck you are having better luck than I am

I am getting nowhere with it

My Amiga shares an internet connection with the PC, I have been advised to open a port for VNC

However, Amivnc OS4 flavour from OS4depot does not contain the HTML file on usage. Looking at St?phane Guillard website for amivnc http://s.guillard.free.fr/AmiVNC/AmiVNC.htm

It seems that it is command line driven with a gazillion options (Well, okay not that many, but you get the point)

(Wish there was a GUI for it)

Any help at all would be very welcome

Many thanks

Well, I didn't succeed either this time, but it's a long time since I used it and I havn't used it more than one time I think. Maybe I was lucky.

Well. It wasn't installed on my 4000, so I tried installing it as said in the guide.

I then started the prefered screendepth from storage/montors.

I changed password tooltype from Workbench.

I started avnc from Workbench.

I started a RTG program (BetaScan actually) and selected the vnc-screen as screen in BetaScans screenmode selector.

I switched over to the PC and started the VNC-client giving the IP of my Amiga and the password.

The connection was established, but I got no picture as far as I could see. Don't know why. I will see if I can find some time to test this a little better some other day perhaps.
