Odyssey bookmarks menu

I reported having freezes when using rhe bookmarks menu.
It was suggested it had to do with the MUI version & to revert to a previous version.
The freeze problem did not show up anymore probably to some MUI element 's update,.

However the normal choice you get (to add a bookmark, to show the bookmarks) is not working with my (big) bookmarks.html file

I get along empty dropdown menu item.

When it replace it with the original empty bookmarks.html & add some bookmarks those dropdown choices do appear.

Now this is no longer a big problem because the gui interface to bookmarks works very well.

Still curious what is going on.
Nothing weird happens when using the bookmarks gui, when loading the bookmarks.html file directly in the browser it looks OK?

When validating the file online on w3 site i get general complants about doctype & more not defined , complaints about quicklinks elements appearing tin the <LI> tag suc as
OWBQUICKLINK="OS4Depot" OWBQLORDER="1" OWBQLSHOWALIAS="0"
and also about the use of ampersand in URL's

nothing that rings a bell.

Could it be just the size of the file?
