@BeSilly The IDE fix is a motherboard modification which fixes a bus arbitration issue between the VIA IDE controller and the Ethernet chip. Without the fix, using the VIA IDE controller with DMA enabled and Ethernet at the same time will lock up the bus.
The xe can be fixed to work good. 128mb ram is a bit too small though! But just remember that some people have been selling amiga stuff that hasn't existed,just be a bit careful,otherwise good luck and buy it
Not trying to steal it from your hands,just that i just read articles on both aw and amiga.org that people have bought hw but never got any. It would be sad to throw money out the window. But i do hope you get the A1. Nice piece of hardware,with the best os ever
The machine is an A1-XE, G4 running at 800MHz and comes with 128MB of RAM and a Radeon 7000. It could me mine for 300 UKP <grin>
The seller tells me it has had a fix for the IDE.
Putting aside the current absence of hardware, it's not a bargain, but not rip off as well. If I was offered, I would really consider this as a broken cpu replacement for my A1.
And don't forget the OS4 CD...

Personally I'd say it is a bargain - given that the seller could get twice that amount without too much effort, I reckon.
OK, they cost less than that new, but supply and demand being what they are, in this case demand=rather high, supply=practically nil, ?300 is worth it. And you won't get many other chances to get a G4-powered OS4 machine for a little while I reckon....[1]

Isn't this exactly what I said? Throw the abscence of hardware back into the equation: you will find it a bargain As to "twice that amount", there was a ps3 from the batch that was sold at the day of its release, it went on EBay for 15kUS$. Half the price might seem a bargain to some people, to others --- not.
I would call fair selling it at price of a new one. Going up as high as twice the price is a rip off. That's my opinion.

Yes only a few wires, on the top of the motherboard and under the motherboard, this is requierd fix in my option, but I believe you can get around the problem whit SIL controller like some did.
There exist also an USB fix, some of the USB signals should be connected to resistors that should be grounded or connected to 5V DC (don?t remember) , I do not remember the details on that.
