AmigaOne RAM

Evening all,

I've got an AmigaOne XE, it has 1x 256mb DIMM in it. I'd like to upgrade, any recommendations as to where to buy the memory from?

This is one thing I would not buy at AmigaKit for 69 GBP. You can try e-bay or some other place.
I searched e-bay for "pc 133 ecc" and found some good sales.

168-pin PC-133 ECC registered memory is also known as server memory. People have reported trouble finding a compatible stick, but I've tried a dozen different kinds with no problem.

However, there are some troubles trying to use multiple sticks together. What I would do is plan on using only one stick, so make sure it is 512 MB or higher to replace your existing one.

The extra memory will not give you any performance boost, but will help if you are loading a large application that runs out of memory.

I've got two 256MB SIMMs that I used to use in my A1. It stopped working at one point but they both seemed ok on their own - I just took the opportunity to stick a few 512MB SIMMs in.

You can have both for the price of postage, it should be enough to get you up to 512MB, just let me know.

If you or anyone else have got spare RAM laying around that works with the AmigaOne I would be very interested.
Any combination that works and gets me at least 512Mb is interesting for me as I have tried several modules without luck

The last I bought and tried was a 1GB Kingston ECC module.
Uboot reported 1GB fine but OS4 went into guru the few times it actually booted. Sometimes I could have the system running a few minutes before reapers turned up.
