Home away from home

Now i'm running my sam460ex. And it's working.

2GB ram,using onboard gfx and sata2.

Posting from owb. No system freezes and no strange dsi's.

Now i'm running my sam460ex. And it's working...
Glad to hear you ironed out the problems. Quite a few people recently got Sam460s: Noel Fuller, Joe Howard, Bart Mathias, Ikir, and you! I guess some peer pressure is building-up for me to upgrade! Umm, all the Amiga players are not in the poker game yet. I would like to hear more about the X1000 before I decide about 'calling' or 'folding'!

This machine is just a temp upgrade till the X1000 comes out. Then the 460 wil be sold.

I don't think you can really compare the X1000 & Sam460 - they are both very different machines (different specs & prices). If you can afford an X1000, and want to "future proof" yourself or otherwise need very fast CPU, then that is probably the way to go. Otherwise a Sam460.

+ 1..the great thing is we have a choice of new hardware finally and that in itself is amazing

And mine arrived on Tuesday xD

Spent the last two evenings configuring third-party applications. Great fun :) Can't wait for all the other parts of the jigsaw to fit into place, namely sound and 3D support for the Radeon 4650.

Ed: Keep the mods busy. :)

I sure know how to cut and paste in AmigaOS now! (I do still struggle with marking text though lol)

BUT wait I know you mean hardware xD, what does the actual machine look like in the flesh?

I'll give 'Sam' her photo shoot tomorrow perhaps; its dark here now. :(
