have a look at this drive Only ?78.98.
I never realised solid state drives were this cheap.

I have an a1 with a sii0680 card, and I wonder which card (3112/3114) I would need to utilise one of these.

Either the 3112 or 3114 will suffice. They are basically the same card, the 3112 has 2 SATA ports, whereas the other has 4 ports.

Both are supported by AmigaOS 4.

Is it still valid (with the last revision of OS4) that these card does not support booting from a device?

One still can "only" use these cards for data or "add-on" hds?

This isnt meant as a negative, just checking

Thats the first time I've ever heard that. As far as I'm aware, these drivers support bootable media, as long as you can set the boot source in UBoot, I don't see a problem with them. The 3114 driver is the same as used in the Sam, and that boots the system just fine.

That's the problem: You can't. The public versions of the AmigaOne U-Boot support at most 1 of the 3 SATA controllers, but I don't remeber which one (sii3112, sii3114 or sii3512).

Sil 3112 and 3114 will both work, I believe... Sil 3512 will work with AmigaOS but will not boot from Uboot.

Hi Simon

Is there any difference, relative to OS4, with regards to Sata and Sata 2.
The ssd drive is sata 2, so I wasn't sure which card supported that.

Also there was a discussion about using sata blueray writers for back-up (data only), so I had that compatibility in the back of my mind, when I asked the question as well.

Thanks for any pointers.
