According to some sources AmigaOS4.0 will work on classic range of Amigas with PPC-cards! What is in this case is the best setup?

BPPC/Bvision CGFX

or

BPPC/Mediator Picasso96 (f.i. voodoo cards)

How much memory is preferd?

As far as i can recall the bvision is supported
And the best support will be for the Mediator through Picasso96 with VooDoo cards
I unfortunatly have the Grex setup and will have to completely redoo my setup
new tower etc so i can use the Mediator :( i will cross that bridge when it comes to it of course

I have my A1 so wont be in too much of a rush to change my ppc1200 around :)

I reccomend the full 256meg ram for it tho :)

Thx! Yeah I've heard of betatesters who uses the same setup as me (BPPC603e240) with Mediator and Voodoo5500!

I was thinking if Bvision was a better HW for using with OS4. Great, so no need of searching for a Bvision then.

160 will get you going but 256 would be much better

Ask Ryu what his a1200 setup is. He is a betatester for Os4 on classic.

I lend my A1200 BPPC040/25+603/200Mhz +BVision to our translator. The machine worked pretty fine with 192Mb of memory. But I think a voodoo + mediator would be a better solution.

I talked to Ryu yesterday, nice guy btw, and we talked about the best classic setup for running OS4.

I've decided after his conversation to buy AOS4 whenever it will be released. He said that probably the best setup is Mediator and Voodoo5500. At least it will support 3d-drivers. Bvision is also supported, but only 2d-drivers.

Mediator wont be supported in "native mode" but may be emulated through Elbox own drivers.

He also said that 64mb is enough, but the more the better. Even with the new memsystem.

As I've heard before the 060 processor will be shut down when operating os4. The best way (imo) is to use two boot partitions. One with OS4 and one with f.i. OS3.9.
