I would like to know whether better graphics cards make sense at all on an A1222.

My hardware was delivered with a RX550 (4GB) which I have already replaced with a RX570 (8GB) and ran the benchmark via StarBox (os4Depot).

Perhaps we can compare it with other cards to see if there are any differences in speed. Run the test in full screen with a resolution of 1920x1080x32Bit

My results on my A1222 with an RX550 video card, running full screen in a 1980x1080@32 screenmode resulted in 373.36 FPS.

What is interesting is that on my X5000 I have a much older RadeonHD 7750. There with the same screenmode I only get 271.02 FPS, so the video card definitely makes a difference here considering the A1222 is quite a bit faster than the X5000 in this one test due to the GPU differences.

Different benchmark, but the fastest GfxBench2D result on an A1222 is with a RX 580 (Product ID: 0x67df, Vendor ID: 0x1002, Sub-Product ID: 0xc580, Sub-Vendor ID: 0x1682, according to pci.ids that's a "Ellesmere Radeon RX 580"):

It's always a bit of a faff setting my A1222 to a screen resolution of 1920x1080. Although my monitor supports that resolution, it doesn't report it so isn't one of the options that comes up in the screen mode prefs automatically and I have to set it manually.
