To give information to all newcomers to AmigaOS4, and even to those ones who considering buying sam460cr while owning something else for aos4 already (like me having also x5000 and pegasos2), I made probably one of my biggest and heavy video-work for, called "Sam460: from the Begining to the End". It is a long 45-minute video, with all the stuff like unpacking, checking, testing, installing of os4, real-life tests, subtitles, and co. The video is of 7 parts:

PART 1: Unpacking the package and close look at the motherboard
PART 2: The first run. Tests on the Table.
PART 3: Installing into the case. Vertical GFX setup.
PART 4: Installing of AmigaOS4 FE. an USB Stick way.
PART 5: The basic configuration: Network, Audio, and Extras
PART 6: UP 2 DATE. Installing Update1 and Update2
PART 7: Full settings. Real-life performance

So, feel free to check this out if you consider buying sam460! Hope you like it:

Awesome video... Did you do it on Amiga :D
Just a comment. I saw that you created your partitions with 1024 block set. As you use SSD I believe you should use 4096 blocks, because that's what the SSDs are using, and that doesn't change.

I might be wrong, but if you use 1024 block you are losing the 3/4 of the block, so you are losing space.

Nice video. Thanks for making it!
Hope they get the UBoot issue figured out soon. Seems to be the biggest roadblock for beginners.

I'm hoping the A1222 gets released some day as I want to put together a "small" semi-protable system.

awesome vids for new users! ACube hardware is top quality and all drivers worked out and they can use latest graphics cards too so great entry OS4.x machines for sure.

@ walkero

good point! I set up a 16GB DOM with 1024 and wonder if I should have have used 4096 too?? I think I'll have to run some tests on block sizes on my miggies to try to settle this issue once and for all

Terrific video. It makes me a tad jealous.

@AmigaSource

I can't believe I'm only discovering your site now in 2021. Awesome collection of links!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! After 20 years I have FINALLY (ha ha) decided to get off my LAZY ass and 'finish' the site.

Give me a few more weeks and I'll have the Admin & User link editor done then and I'll start re-validating the 1500+ links I currently have and start adding the 3000+ I have been sitting on.

Side note... I just added the links for the previous years. It's a 'quick temp fix' solution until I get to this part of the code but now have a few hundred more links for look at.

Very interesting. Thanks.

Even more interesting is that I just clicked on the link here and the video popped right up on my 5000 and played without a hiccup. . . and that's without any additional scripts or tweaks to Odyssey (thanks for that, too!)
