[Odyssey] Problem to open uncommon picture link

Hi,
I have a picture with an unusual link but Odyssey doesn't want to open it normally. It displays the binary content of the picture instead to display it.

The following link works well under NetSurf OS4, Internet Explorer and Safari iOS but not with Odyssey (1.16 or 1.23).

Is somebody know how to allow Odyssey to handle these kind of link ?

Problem is not only with AmiCloud link, it occurs too with another link (this one too without file extension)

Yep same problem here ..
Maybe changing some settings in the OWB prefs (MIME type section) ?

thank you for the confirmation, yes I thought to MIME settings but i really don't know which type to add.

Don't know, eventually we might rise a question to kas1e (or Fabien)

Maybe that website doesn't set a proper MIME type on this file (because it doesn't have an extension) and Odyssey obeys the MIME rather than being smart and see that the image comes from an <img> tag.

AWeb saves it as unknown mime type.

Using AWeb.debug I see that the Content-Type: field is empty

The server is clearly screwed. Send a bug report to your "hosting company".

OWB and Odyssey are obvious falling back to text/plain which is the safest thing to do (except maybe AWeb approach of saving the file rather than trying to display it).

Shows as binary with IB too but you can use IB's fab menu to 'download as mime/image/jpeg'

hmm.. it is correct that we didn't set the mime type on the files yet.
The idea of the picture urls is to embed them into websites or Forums..

like this (this is your link):



Since you are embedding them with html tags mime type doesn't matter.

Can you see it on OWB?
I am checking why Safari, Chrome, IE and other browser can show it and other not.. Anyway I will add "setting" correct mime-tipe to our todo list

EDIT:
I've added this request to our todo list for the web programmer now..

Modern browser have a mime-check
1. At first they check the server sended info
2. Than suffix
3. Than file headers

Maybe OWB does 1 and 2 but can't do step 3.

The difference here is that the server is acting "case sensitive".
change "JPG" to "jpg" and it will work

Even if you will fix case recognition, I will change too my snapshoter program (FastView), it add uppercase suffix instead of lowercase.
