Preferences > Start Page

I'm gradually putting together a replacement of a totally wiped out OS4 HD (password list, email addresses, etc., less than two-and-a-half years old all gone!).

I've got Odyssey working more or less as it should again (but at 1024x768 instead of 1920x1080. Yuck!). But I have not been able to reestablish the opening page by filling in Preferences > Start Page with www.staradvertiser.com. I keep getting "about:blank" when I boot up. The Home Page entry works fine; of course for that I need to click the house, but I never had to click anything in the past to get logged on to my newspaper when I booted Odyssey.

I have no doubt forgotten something important (my new way of life), but what?

You have to enter the FULL url including the protocal, use:

http://www.staradvertiser.com

I had tried that already, and it didn't work. But maybe that was because I didn't do a cold reboot afterwards? It works now, thank you.

Another reason I didn't think the http:// stuff was necessary: I don't have it for Home Page, but clicking the house brings up my web site.

Okay, next project is to get DOpus5 back.
