2022 - December - Santa's Monster Shootout - AmigaOS 4 - Ended

Hi,

Since it is December and X-mas is approaching, I thought we'd do one competition for Classic Amiga and one for AmigaOS 4.

As suggested by 328gts, the main game this month is Santa's Monster Shootout from Entwickler-X.



Snowy valleys, Christmas bells and Santa Claus is preparing gifts for christmas. A normal december. Really? No, something is different this year...

Monsters and Zombies from all the world are trying to steal the gift packages, they want it all and they want it now.

But Santa don't own just a jute sack full of gifts and a rod... he also have guns, big guns. Guns to defeat infinite waves of monsters to protect the gift packages.

Help Santa to ged rid of the evil breed and bring us happy holidays!


How To Play:

- The primary weapon has infinite ammo, it is not very strong but always available.

- Shoot as many enemies you can to earn money for purchasing new pistols, guns and refill ammo in the shop.

- Pick up ammo clips and health packages to keep you alive while playing a level.

- On each level, you must fight against a big end monster to go to the next level. From level to level the game gets harder.

Nice game! How to make account for online scores? I tried to visit Amiboing page but it is down at the moment. I was on level 11 but I don’t see hiscores nowhere:)

The plan was that we can get a reduced restart of amiBoing before christmas, but time runs faster than expected. We have to clean up some old code and insert a GDPR compatible version of login/register. But we want to make it as soon as possible. I think it was my mistake in the last weeks. I thought that i am able to rework the whole system with layout and reducing functions but it did not work. My new plan is to only insert the needed functions and cookie Information and make it online. Later i will work step by step for newer functions.

For Highscores: within the deep of the code there are already function and pages for make a time limited Highscore list. This would be perfect for this competition. But i can not finish it next days. So maybe we can get it for a next competition of a game.

@topic again: Have fun and thanks for playing even if it's a shitty game. But it is more fun than you will expect ;)

ok let's get this started! wow my fingers (both hands) are hurting lol this truly is a 'shoot out' I already have an AmiBoing account so for AmiBoing games my user name is GS.

I already have ABoing account for Tap Jewels game, but when I trie to use login details for Santa Monster it does not work. So, my question is, do I need new account for every new game or something is bad with database on page?

i reactivated the original gameDetail Page. Here you also can find the never Version. The os4depot file is not the latest update and also was not uploaded from us... so it is not possible to make a fast updat (again, please: we want to upload our games!!! We are alive and have internet, if we want to have it on os4depot, we make it!). When we miss an update, please write us an email and we make an os4depot entry which we can update later!)

@vooDoo: only one login should work. Maybe the newer version works.
If not, feel free to write us an email (mail@entwickler-x.de) and i can adjust the password. Under the hood, the old amiboing system runs. So i can send you a new password and the link to the login page for you to set a private password.

If we can get a relaunch, we will have a mechanism for changing the password.

Where did you find the high score table? I got the game from EntwicklerX web portal and then from the OS4Depot and don't have it.

I downloaded the new version. It crashed while playing the game with 0xCCCCCCCC in both registers on crashed instruction.

@levellord: Registering is not public, we hope to get it done within the first month of 2023. Write us an email and i can set it manually (with nickname).

@TSK: Should work, very strange. Other games runs fine? Newest OS4 Updates installed?

The debug kernel sets node ln_Succ/ln_Pred fields to 0xcccccccc on removal, so if the program accesses the link fields on a removed node it would lead to this kind of crash.

I've had a amiboing account since they first came out a while back now. So far I'm still on the top for A Frog Game but way off still for Santa's Monster Shootout but will try to change that during Christmas break eh

I forgot to say I was using the beta system.
