I've downloaded and installed a demo version of TurboCalc5 on my PegII and I really like it. I also found ADFs for the full version and installed it as well.
It appears that TurboCalc is now abandonware and but I'd really like to use it.
Or tell me where I can buy a used copy with serial number on the cheap?
[edited by chris - please don't request serial numbers for commercial software]
When I bought my AmigaOneXE in 2003, it came with a Magic Pack cd from Eyetech to go with UAE, and it had Turbocalc 3.5 on it. I still use it every week, its very handy. I didnt realise I was using an outdated version. I might give it the latest version a try too.
Very good. v5 lets me "run turbocalc budget.tcd" from my start all apps script. I've been manually loading my budget every time I've had to reboot for years.
Now I want to buy a copy of this somehow too! (Or other means if we cant find anyone willing to sell..).
You can legally purchase TurboCalc 4.0 on Aminet CD 40 with discount offer to upgrate to TurboCalc 5.0. I use this version of TurboCalc and works fine for my needs, but I don't know if the upgrate offer is still valid.
@ferrels I were able to purchase TurboCalc 5 through eBay - it is really a nice software, but: There is nothing like "abandonware"!!! It is a commercial product, which is discontinued - there is still a copyright. So be careful with posting "can someone give me a serial number" messages Maybe one day someone (Michael Friedrich?) is able/willing to develop it further, port to ppc or whatever...
I searched several Amiga web boards and also found references at this link stating it was abandonware or at least not for sale anymore since the company and author were no longer around.
I did purchase a copy from an ebay dealer in the UK and it cost me $51USD which is a bit step for old software that isn't supported any longer. He has but one copy left, so if you're interested you'd better act now.
-Mod Edit-
Link to downloadable content which could stll be copyrighted removed.
It's certainly not been abandoned. One of the OS4 devs has been in contact with the author with a view to rewriting it for OS4 and has started the job.
OS4 development has held up the work, but one day he will get back to it
Would be great to have TurboCalc for OS4 with an updated Excel support that's all what I need... MoreOver a price not too high also (around 50 euros seems fair to me).

That would be great. I use Turbocalc everyday, and an OS4 native version would be brilliant. And as a side note, once ported, it could be improved & updated, which would be even more brilliant.

That sounds excellent. I use TurboCalc quite frequently and a native version with modern screen handling would be just right.
TurboCalc5 is much more powerful than Ignition. It supports Excel files and also exports to HTML. I know that Ignition is opensource and cost free, but you often times get what you pay for.
