System: WinUAE 4.0.1 + Z3 RTG 128MB (1920x1080) + Picasso96 + OS3.9 + SFS or PFS for long filenames (102+5 chars) + PPaint 7.3b original.
1) When I keep LMB pressed to change freely brush size (menu Brush/Resize/Stretch) and play a bit with its size moving mouse faster, I get MuForce hits and Gurus "Sanity check on memory list failed".
2) When I keep LMB pressed to change the slope of a brush (menu Brush/Rotate/Shear) and play a bit with slope angle moving mouse faster, it crashes as above with MuForce hits and Gurus.
3) When I load this picture: http://www.mobygames.com/game/brian-t ... gle/cover-art/gameCoverId,91812/ (save it somewhere with the original long filename >62 chars: "91812-brian-the-lion-starring-in-rumble-in-the-jungle-amiga-cd32-front-cover.jpg") in PPaint it crashes almost immediately with a Guru. When I reduce the filename length to less than 63 chars PPaint 7.3b will load it without crashes.
I tried to contact AEON but got no reply. Where is support? Someone can help me? Where should I report these bugs hoping they'll be fixed sooner or later? I was very happy to still buy original Amiga classic software but the total lack of support is really demotivating.
I'm experiencing a little issue too. When I select the smallest brush the cross pointer or rather the brush is misplaced and paints at about 20 pixels to the right and 6-7 pixels below. Does the same happen on your system?
I'm using an A1200 Blizzard IV 030/FPU 64 MB RAM and AmigaOS 3.9 with all BoingBags. But it does the same on a vanilla OS 3.1 on the same machine.
The smallest brush = the 1 pixel pen from top-left?
Can't reproduce. Only the Fill object pointer is a bit too high for me for a few pixels (at least in 1:1 1920x1080 Picasso96 mode), but it's not a big problem…
Can you please confirm the other major bugs above when in Picasso mode 1920x1080 + Amiga Blitter option: OFF? EDIT: I can reproduce the corrupt memory list issue (bugs 1, 2) with brushes even in AGA only mode (Blitter option off)

I can't reprduce either of these when running the 68k version on OS4. (I don't have 68k environment to test it at the mment).
The code for both operations will be very similar.
Does it still crash without MuForce running?

You reported this to me and made a bug report in our bug tracker IIRC .
I haven't had time to fix it, too many other projects. Easily worked arroud by using sensible file names though.

Hi broadblues! Didn't realize it was you, thanks for reply :D Yes still crashes just stretching too much the selected brush or on very high inclination. Also the brush may sometimes look trashed during these operations... Have no issues with other functions.
Sure, thanks broadblues+Amigakit! :) Send me a PM.
EDIT: About bugs 1 and 2, I've just been able to reproduce them also on a brand new OS3.9bb2 installation + Picasso96... Always WinUAE 4.0.1 but I exclude an emulation issue. Maybe a software issue, but since I've been able to reproduce it even after a fresh 3.9bb2 install I don't know what to think... mmmh
After a lot of bug hunting I've found the origin of random trashed requester strings, e.g. (at the bottom):
You need to browse the HD, load brushes etc, for a while to see this happen: won't necessary happen on first requester opening/browsing. Another requirement seems to be a directory full of files (i.e. PP requester heigth won't be sufficient to display all files).
This happens on 68K OS3.1 and OS3.9 olny if SYS:Prefs/Locale is set (save and reboot, please) to non-english (e.g. Ita in my case) in the "Preferred languages" field.
EDIT: read msg below about math libs!

Finally, a small gfx glitch when you select a format with sub-options: the 'Options' button will have borders partially ghosted (I suppose is a glitch due to the new GUI with small borders in 7.3b):

After a more accurate analysis I've found the origin of the bugs 1,2 and 4 (!?) on brush resize/stretch and corrupt path string in requesters are reproducible using OS3.9 68k: mathieeedoubbas.library 45.3 (23-Nov-2000) mathieeedoubtrans.library 45.3 (23-Nov-2000) mathieeesingtrans.library 45.3 (23-Nov-2000) or 45.4 from next (official/unofficial) BoingBags...
Using MathLibsUAE.lha (Aminet) on WinUAE emulated 020+881 or 040+fpu or 060+fpu PPaint runs fine and there is no memory corruption.
P.S. I use ThoR's MMU libs from Aminet.

I know about that one. The gadgets are all 'hand rolled' using techniques that went out with AmigaOS 1.3. Very hard to work with, don't play wl with deeper screen modes etc.

That's very weird. Not at all sure why mathlibs shoud corrupt string in requesters!
Once you have the fixed version from matthew, could you perhaps save a log of the MuForce hits and send me it? Then I may be able to work out what memeoey is corrupting, perhaps, if the wind is the right direction
News for the fix of bug 1)? PPaint still crashes badly with mem corruption when I Shear or Stretch any brush... Tested also on plain WinUAE 040/040 with OS3.1 + OS3.1.4 + P96, or just WB3.1 + P96 drivers. I can set up a simple WB env to reproduce the problem if you need, for WinUAE.
More info: It's reproducible even in AGA mode, no P96. Using MathLibsUAE.lha from Aminet there are no MuForce/MuGuardianAngels hits and mem corruption.
