How sad am I?

My wife and I were watching a DVD of the 3rd series of "Between the Lines" a British political TV drama set in the 1990's. The main character was setting up a new office and had a Commodore A4000 box open on the table and a Commodore Monitor on the desk. My wife could not quite appreciate my excitement of seeing my beloved Amiga on a mainstream TV show of the day. After that I started to realise that all the monitors used in the show were Commodore models. Ah happy days.

Apparently the TV companies liked them because of the sync rate. Because they refreshed at the same speed as a TV picture, any recording of the screen through a video camera would be steady.

Try the same with VGA scan rates, and the screen flickers like mad.

last week I've seen on TV a few images of a soccer match that was recorded in the early 90s. What a surprise to see around the playing field, adverts for "Commodore Amiga" !

Commodore used to sponsor Chelsea Footbal club in England and the Amiga name appeared on their shirts.
