Cyberstorm PPC booting screen issues
Just popping in
Just popping in

See User information
I have taken my A4000T apart & built a second one with the PPC hardware & I still have a problem booting.
For some reason the early start up screens are all running at the wrong sync rate via the 15khz amiga monitor. I know ESC can show the cyberstorm boot menu but I can't see it to adjust it.
It does this with or without the PIV, I have tried booting from IDE, UW SCSI or even with no drives & get the same result if I try the early boot. If I try an AGA game from floppy it's fine or if I wait for the disk screen it's fine.
Any help on this would be good ! Can I just attach a PC monitor with a VGA adaptor to handle the output?

Pressing a key in the Esc menu should switch between 31 and 15 kHz. Then disable the 31 kHz boot screen in the System menu.

Yes, this is the other solution.

If you need more information about the Esc menu, read the FlashBIOS.doc file from the flash update archive.

Hey Thomas you are a life saver, I'll try this tonight & fingers crossed get it up & running again. Would this also explain why the PIV splits the screen in half on early boots so left is right & right is left ?

Will let you know the results thanks for the advice & hopefully I can get OS4.0 installed.

Got it working I had to press space bar in the Cyberstorm menu, after a few attempts of installing the OS I found that wiping it was best as it would lock up esp if using the Power PC support on OS3.9

No idea how to set up warp os etc
Only thing I am stuck on is getting my cdrom on the Cybppc chain as it is not recognised on SCSI ii or the later

You already have set it up if you installed PowerPC support for OS 3.9.

Hi Thomas I didn't specify that option on the install & if I do install warp OS 5.0 or 5.1 the Amiga hangs & freezes once workbench comes up

Where did you get them from ? I only know the 5.1 update. AFAIK there is no full 5.x package other than that which comes with OS 3.9.

Then something's wrong with your PPC drivers. Workbench (actually picture.datatype) automatically uses the PPC to load the background picture and the Amidock background if PPC drivers are installed.

Here is a test disk for the PPC (CyberstormPPC only, does not work on BlizzardPPC):

Danke Thomas will try this out.

I know I can't launch Freespace or Doom ppc etc as not sure what libs I should have or don't have. Tried the original PPC lib from the phase 5 CD also.

My Cyberstorm is the DCE 060 233mhz version.
