Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that I have nearly finished the three designs for a new case for the SAM.
I have found time to delve into the wedge style case too, although it sounds an expensive proposition.
The other two are a cube style case and a desktop solution.
Please let me know you suggestions and thoughts.
Testing is starting this week on one of the designs, I will keep you informed.
Thank you.

@TheDaddy Well difficult to say. What I would like it the most low profile case possible.

Thank you very much, that is very useful, it's the first time someone has suggested that.

@TheDaddy Yeah, I'm sure we all have big ATX boxes taking up lots of room; a nice, small box would be great! Jase

@TheDaddy will you be able to earth yourself to the inside of the case when working on the insides?

@TheDaddy: I think a desktop case in A1200 style would have a great success :) Thanks ;) Laurent aka Faranheit

Probably...
PS: If you are still looking for the Minimig case...I am receiving the second batch of the slightly redesigned/improved cases for the Minimig towards the middle of January.
The pound is weak and sucks a bit to be honest so now it's the time to get one.

I have got 3 designs more or less finished, the A1200 style is one of them but at the moment it's also the most complicated and expensive of the lot.
Keep the suggestions coming

All three designs are quite small, I am not a huge fan of big boxes myself

@TheDaddy IMHO, small like the red one, from relec, but little higher (for the PCI card) and at the same time a standard 5 1/4 combo DVD-CD. Maybe merged design to have one design if SAM-flex also. all of course IMHO.

It sounds good. So would you prefer to have the possibility of using the PCI slot or are you not that bothered?
The use of the PCI slot would make the box higher than a slim one...obviously.

@TheDaddy the red one dimensions are OK but miss maybe 2 centimeters vertically for a PCI card direclty. Maybe the 2 centimeters missing allow at the same time the use of a standard 5 1/4 combo DVD-CD. The PCI slot use is IMHO, verry verry important (futur use for wifi, another PCI graphic card from hans drivers,...) who know what amiga users with use on the PCI slots. Same also for a standard 5 1/4 combo DVD-CD.

@Mrodfr PCI graphic card on Sam 440EP have no use because the pci slot is at 33Mhz however the graphic chipset is at 66Mhz. If you want something small, forget tue use of PCI card. Wifi can be replaced easily by CPL products which is much more secure (no discinection for example since it is some cable connection) ! I think PCI Slot use is only a good thing with futur Sam Flex board. Thanks, Laurent aka Faranheit

@Faranheit >>PCI graphic card on Sam 440EP have no use because the pci slot is at 33Mhz however the graphic chipset is at 66Mhz. Can't you use a Radeon 9250 128/256MB on the SAM?

@TheDaddy Yes you can use one Radeon PCI card on Sam 440EP but as the PCI slot in only at 33Mhz, it will be much slower than the integrated chipset :) Laurent aka Faranheit

@Faranheit
examples on my previous post are just examples
Maybe something on PCI will be interesting to add with SAM and SAM-flex boards and for this case, a case who fit PCI cards will be usefull
BTW, 2 cms more vertically for combo DVD-CD 5 1/4 is important also for reducing final prize for amiga users allways short of money
